Marriage in oort!

But there are way more intresting and important after 1.0 things that should be implemented before mirrage anyway xD

K,okay - admit. Yes. But its cute idea.

You could discuss it later… but someone brought it up now, if the players or the devs don’t think it’s important now (which it isn’t) they’ll bookmark it and when they come to it again they get a huge forum full of already discussed ideas.

Just saying that you can focus your thoughts on some more important things that will be implemented now or on more importandn thing for after 1.0. Mirrage wont come that fast tho ^^

Exept its really easy to implement and they do it in one day additionally.

umm, wow. I don’t think I really want to delve that deeply into the game.

and of course that would be awkward if you married someone in game, and then you actually got married in real life.

if two people are actually married then they can play the game together. if two people want to in-game marry, share your beacon, I guess. maybe put on matching accessories. tell everyone you meet you’re married. no need for an in-game feature.

if you want fireworks to go off after someone accepts your proposal, craft some beforehand, like you would in real life.

I don’t think it would be a bad thing some people seem to like it and it could be something cool for the people that use it. Other MMOs that iv played that have it don’t seem to have any issues with it and of course if you don’t like it you don’t have to use it and just go on player the game like you normally do i don’t see why you would make a fuss over it

race and players ■■■ should not be a limitation i think thou

Keep in mind the potential age groups, not everyone is old enough to get married and games are a curious outlet for some of these desires. I expect a fair amount of roleplay with or without friends, to occur in this game.

I can see this going well for RP’ers… but other than that, I don’t see an actual game mechanic involving it.

It wont be a huge feature of the game either iv played games that had it and didn’t even know about it for a long time on top of that its also a choice that both party’s have to make so some people wont even do it out of there thoughts and beliefs

What would be cool, and this is just me brainstorming, is that if marriage was incorporated into the game, perhaps a beam of light could connect the married couple for 24 hours (If you’re familiar with League of Legends I’m thinking something like Kalista’s bind). This beam could always show you the way to your spouse, and after 24 hours (real time) it would disappear for everyone else. Also, a little ring icon could be displayed above your character and it could read: “[Person A’s Name] is married to [Initials of Person B].” Now what’s the point of this? Well first I think you will need some prerequisites for getting married such as follow.

  1. A range for money for cheap weddings - luxurious weddings
  2. X amount of time must be spent “bonding” with the other player. This can include raiding together, spending X amount of time in the same party, sharing a house/beacon.
  3. Finally the dependence on race specific customs
^Eg. Reptillian race allows all citizens to marry anybody they wish. Whereas the insect race must only marry other insects due to their slow extinction, or something like that haha :stuck_out_tongue:
Back to the reasons for getting married: I would think that you would be able to share X amount of gold with each other,
Also, if possible it would be amazing if you could have a NPC offspring (granted dev’s would have to add NPC’s to the game). This would allow for such cool fun, like raising your child to help you tend the farm (almost like hiring a worker yourself, but it’s free! ) or even train him as a fighter to take down titans, the possibilities are endless! Though this would be very difficult to code behavioral traits and mood, that’s only granted if you want realistic children, as well as their continued growth into an adult.
Okayyyy time to wrap this never ending reply up. I would love the fun to be able to marry another person in-game even if it is just for fun! It would be cool to see if one way to merge guilds is to marry the guild masters. <— @Zouls I think that’s reason enough to marry :stuck_out_tongue:
P.S. This is just me fantasizing, pay no mind to it if you disagree with my crazy ideas  it’s just me and my hopes

1.0+ feature methinks, if ever. RP maybe the best way to go (less work for devs  )

I think it would be neat to, instead of a ring, have a (agreed upon colored) soul crystal that floats around your character to signify your bonds. Due to being able to choose a color you can hopefully spot your mate in a crowd.

a family system would be nice too ?

You’ll have to suggest more. Are you envisioning any sort of gameplay feature or benefit? What sorts of things do you suggest that RP wouldn’t be able to handle or that would set this apart from just RP?

Honestly think that a lot of “family” system could be covered by the guild system and a little bit of roll play.
Name of guild: _____ family
Guild leader: Father / Mother
2nd: Father / Mother
3rd: First Born
Etc etc.

To enjoy your family the best, please make 2 guild leaders.

Or is it too much???
