if anyone needs to mutil-box it’s you, @DKPuncherello :grinning: you always seem to take on a tremendous amount of work

AAAAAAaaaaaawh. Ok. Totally mis-read this. He was just talking about quickly swapping characters after crossing a portal. Ooooookaaaay.
Oh well yeah, that can’t be an exploit…

Working on building a city (new player center / boundless University) on Kada, want to help?

Up to about 15,000 plots so far

I shall send a bot, kk :+1:

I think this is only one side, sure it keeps prices artificially lower for the buyer but it punishes the person going out and gathering not using the same techniques. They get less when they sell because the botters are putting more resources into the market than would be there had they not botted. So you hurt the players playing by the rules? How is this good?

This is just typical diversion tactics, attack the players pointing out a problem rather than acknowledge that players are CHEATING. Since they are breaking the rules set down by the developers for the game, there is no other way to define what the activity of botters is.

As addicted and in love with this game as I am I know full well that there can always be something in the future that will make me go “nahuh, nope, no way, byebye”…

We’ve had many changes we had to adjust to, sure they were for the better, we’ve also had things nerfed, changed because people were abusing it, etc., etc. there can always be a point where someone can go enough is enough. We’ve all said things like that already haven’t we and so far most of us die hards haven’t but even we have a breaking point…

Now bring on the rental planets and pump out update with content, content and even more content one after the other!!!

That will keep the populous satisfied! Oh and bread of course

Let’s turn it into a Battle Royale type game! Instead of an island we get dropped off at a freshly generated planet, gather mats quickly, craft your weapons and go smash the other citizens!!

Would you then still play :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

To be fair, as an added game mode this could very well be fun for a little while :joy:

I think you’re mistaking his point.
Not that many people are botting
Some of the “anti bot” changes like the gleam doors nerf hurt the little guys (gleam factory and serpensarindustries used to be full of happy noobs) and did literally nothing to stop the botters, since they are now using different tactics.
I don’t know how much compactness will help either. I think my earlier proposal to have plotting up or down use half a plot would have done more than the compactness update.

Things like adding fun new things and balancing professions/oort are more important than putting a bandaid on each new kind of botting. And having people running around as the bot police isn’t helpful to the game IMO.

This actually sounds really fun and I fully support the idea.

Nope, but what you can do is move CharA to a planet, then move CharB to the same spot, then your CharC who then plops down some warp blocks, opens a warp, runs thru it, then you quickly switch to CharB, run thru it, then quickly switch to CharA and run thru it!

Nope, they won’t do anything about that since technically that is possible on PS4!

There’s a thing called Game Sharing, I can set up 1 PS4 as being my main PS4 and then that PS4 never has to log into my PSN account which bought the game. Then on another PS4 I can manually log in to that same PSN account and both PS4’s can then happily play the game.

Maximum of 2 and it’s a tad annoying to have to keep logging in on the 2nd PS4.

Steam also has Family Sharing but it only allows to run the game one at a time in the entire family…

I fully endorse this…brilliant

I am not missing his point. His point was that he thinks the developers need to focus on people complaining because that is what is wrong with the games and the forums versus checking on the activities of the players that might be cheating/breaking the rules/violating the TOS whatever you want to call it. That is what he said. . he said nothing about nor did he refer to the changes you brought up.

I disagree with your statement. If the development team is this small, who is supposed to point out exploits or problems with other players like botting? There are no in game GM’s to do it. So do we just let players do whatever they want? So are you suggesting that if I am botting that none of the other players should say anything about it? I could care less how other players spend their time in game as long as they are not violating the rules of the game. If player feel they want to look for players violating the rules. . hey maybe not how I want to spend my time, but as long as they do not name and shame they are not violating the rules. The players botting are.

People running between me and what I’m hitting - when I’m not botting - costing me money - is worse abuse and harassment than botting.

Uh.
In regards to hunting, I guess if you only care about the mob drops, that could work too. You collect on one character, then quickly switch character, collect, wait for a portal to open, run through it, switch character, run through portal…

I might actually try that to bring home more creature loot.

We burn through our bones at light-speed, since it’s used to make glue, which is used to make stone beams and such.

Seriously! Could be a blast! Also let you keep what you can manage to gather/collect while there. Just beeline for the resources or prepare to fight? Maybe disable player icons too. This could be pretty epic really.

Could also do a somewhat alternate mode like an exo - sticks around longer, but only allowed one death there, not allowed back on after, that could help with staggering playtimes.

That’s your opinion. . which is fine. I do not share that opinion, because while it might be rude, I do not find it to be against the rules. If you think it should be then make a suggestion to change the rules or the mechanic, because some one else accidently picking something up has been an issue since EA.

I would argue if you stop briefly and they go away then you can go back to what you were doing, if they do not and you find it to be harassment report it.

Edit: and botting can also cost you money if the botters are flooding the market with low priced goods you are also trying to sell. You get less coin therefore they cost you coin.

I shouldn’t have to stop doing what I’m doing because someone wants to test if I’m a bot. If the devs want to do so, fine. If players want to report people to the devs, including me if they think I’m botting, fine. But don’t harass me when I’m not botting because some people bot. That’s not cool.

Then again if you think this is harassment report them for harassment. . just screaming harassment in the forums is not going to change anyone’s behavior.

Is anybody screaming?

Look, it’s not the end of the world. But the hyperbole isn’t helpful to discourse.

Fine. . claiming harassment by players engaging in an activity that so far, does not violate the ToS for the game over and over in the forums is not going to stop in game player behavior. Better?
