Not to the people that used it before the Nazi’s. It is their symbol now. It was their symbol back then. It will be their symbol in the future. If you let the Nazi’s take the symbol, you are letting the Nazi’s win. It wasn’t theirs to begin with, they don’t get to have it.
Also, the “flip of the symbol” isn’t really accurate. I go to Buddhist temple fairly regularly and there are both directions of the symbol all over.
I think the main point is that some people may find it offensive no matter the context due to how certain groups have used it to spread hate. I think the community is just trying to make you aware of its context outside what you may be using it for… best to be tolerant IMO and just remove them all…
Just because you may not see something as hateful or intolerant doesn’t mean someone else wont be offended by it. Stay on the safe side and remove them…
Just because some 4chan neckbeards started trolling others with pepe doesn’t make pepe a racist or offensive image. If someone is offended by a stupid, poorly drawn green frog because someone else, somewhere, at some point, used it offensively… they really need to reaccess some basic life principles.

This is the CoC on the subject.
The point is that SOME may find it “homophobic, discriminatory, obscene or racist”.
Frankly, that is the only thing that matters.
