I’ve certainly wished this existed more than once, to do borders on stairs and such.
You mean these ![]()
16 new block shapes and a new chisel would do the job

and, of course, a smart
developer
Literally every minecraft player that has ever played with mods knows this pain…
Not that it helps much but in EA you used to be able to craft 1/2 blocks. So while I think having all the shapes available could be done, it might be kind of laborious to actually do.
I guess I never played with whatever mod you’re talking about.
I can’t think of a system better than chisels for getting the shapes you want without horrendous inventory management or weird shape selector UIs. Do you have any examples?
Yes, exactly these!
Personally i would rather go with some horrible UI to change what shape my block is like in Architecturecraft

Or saws
that can give me microblocks:
At the very least we could move away from the 1 tool = 1 shape junk and maybe add a selection wheel.
I can’t imagine how terrible it would be to build the tree I’m working on if I had to have every shape I could want in my pocket, but I think we’ll just have to disagree on that subject.
i too personally do not want to have to craft each shape separately and fill up my inventory needlessly (imo) or another newfangled ui, especially considering not everyone uses a mouse and keybored.
This is fine, for a microbuild. A few hundred thousand blocks down the road though?
Noooooooooooooooo no no.
I would like to vote for all of the below, and for solid doors in all materials that don’t have them. ![]()
Oh, yeah, and chiseling down to a split corner … so that either opposing corners are only left, or perhaps all four corners left. Someone else posted separately about it over the past day or so … ![]()
These should be able to be done… I guess they would want a few examples on how it can be used… Maybe if we ever get that double block angled ones we want we could get @James and team to do these too…
I’d like to see a possibility for 2 solid blocks to occupy same space - then the chiseled blocks could “merge” nicely, just as liquids “fill” other chiseled blocks. You can then have round windows following a round hole in the wall, without any gaps.
Regards,
Until I saw this and reread the suggestion, I thought it was something else, so I’m going to try and describe it because I really really want it: It would be a little like a bevel chisel but the cut doesn’t stop mid-way and thus two hits would leave the back half of a block as is, the half facing you would be one long slope from the centerline of the top to the original front bottom edge. Also AOE 3x3 transform.
I don’t know what block you mean?
Maybe you can make a simple sketch of it
so that we can all see what you want or intend for
Do you mean this?
Okay, now I get it …
… sure he means the “half slope blocks”
Indeed, that are the ones everyone is hoping for we get soon

If we get these after I finish the build I’m starting soon, I’ll be… excitedly rebuilding a large section of it.
there is no doubt I have such plans waiting in the wings for something like this.
Then add more tools for specific shapes and call it a day. Its not like humans only use chisels in real life to shape things.
Chisels alone come in many shapes
Edit: And thinking about it all i have been spouting off is literally what odeon has been talking about with his idea of a block shaper machine. The point stands i would rather much have a new tool or machine instead of this being yet another boon or something wrapped around the chisel
