Wow alder has a lot of copper

Yea ■■■■ tons! That is why we started a public mine. I just mined it out earlier 6 layers down walked away with 4 smart stacks in 45 min and the floor was still riddle with tons of it. Bags were full and didnt want to bottom the mine out so others could use it but had to test it for potential.

I do feel like that copper mine should be made of copper though lol

It will be once I have the machined copper to do so. I just didn’t want to mine it out of the mine so others could benefit!

Re-gen bombs are not the best for mines, as they will not restore the seams…

I was told not to regen things like copper or gems since it will look pristine but be all stones and the next guy won’t know it’s been cleaned out?

Yea. Definitely something to NOT regen so people know there are no resources

Oh i have always been told different.

In response to this ^^

If I read this correctly, as long as all resources are mined, regen bombs should be fine for a public copper mine. Right? Especially in white atlas spots on alder… regen away - just strip-mine

What’s the point of regenning?

To trick Bob into thinking there’s copper

Oh ok makes sense

If you regen manually, you complete a part of the planet’s regen equation ahead of time, I believe. This should theoretically accelerate the seam regen

Based on @lucadeltodecso’s comments on private world gem mines it seems like those resources are just lost - no?

Not sure if that’s a response to me, but I just remember luca’s comments a while ago:

“As it stands, resources can only be inserted once s chunk is fully regenerated (and happens as soon as that is the case) [as usual, ignoring any plotted areas, those dont need to regenerate]”

I was looking into this a while back, and it appears to depend on the situation.

For sure. I mean if it’s public the mines will be disturbed a bunch, probably. Maybe best to let it regen naturally :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh, that’s good info. Thank you : )

I don’t think you read it correctly, the comment seems to just say if you don’t mine out all the other resources, less diamonds may spawn in the area as current seams could block them…

(*) or less, because if you mined out all the diamond… and “didnt” mine out the other resources, then when resources are put back in with the same distribution… you end up with less diamond than you started with because at the start there were 1000 resources with say 10% diamond… and then you mined out the 100 diamond leaving 900 resources, and when it inserts say 100 resources back, only 10% of them will be diamond so now you have only 10 diamonds.
