New Exoplanet Explained

Totally disagree. Color rarity was something that pissed me off from the beginning and I may not have been here as long as you, but I’ve still been playing for 6 years now. I was planning on quitting, but this is something that will make me stay with the game, because now I have so many more building options open to me.

For me, it’s the sacs to make the augments so that you could do gleambows for fun, as well as the gleampops. When you’re in the middle of a hunt and have to cross water, gleampops are invaluable. And if a meteor lands near water, they’re great for covering the water and making that meteor easier.

Neither did I. Those people bragging about something that other people didn’t have? That’s a really good way to drive away new players. And I suspect that the color rarity is what drove away a lot of the new players.
New players would see builds that incorporated those colors and want to use them, only to find out what is required to get them and would feel discouraged. I could see people quitting over that.

That’s what I was expecting when sovereigns were announced. That we’d have access to more colors. The reality was eye opening.
Also something else to consider. It’s been stated that sovereigns cost more to maintain than what we pay for them. So each time a sovereign was rolled to unlocked a color, Wonderstruck and now Monumental had to eat that cost. I think about players like @bucfanpaka who spent probably thousands on sovereigns trying to get new colors.

Agree. I’m not going to be sad or lose sleep over something like this. And the negative nancy’s who have their diapers in a twists over it can quite honestly GROW UP and get over themselves.

If the T7 actually spawned with the rare colors it would be fine but they usually spawn with the same range of colors. People complaining about a a few colors unlocking. It’s like someone giving you a new car for free and complaining it’s the wrong color. With all the unknowns of the future of the game just enjoy it. White goo has been easy to get since white sedimentary started appearing on Blink Exo’s. Sovereign’s being rolled has slowed way down, we used to have over 300 just 2 years ago to half that now. So getting any new colors is becoming extremely rare.

That’s your opinion.

Maybe you will understand better if it was like this: What if your main income source in game was running a portal network for footfall. You’ve spent countless hours building and maintaining it. Then a player of the game (not a game developer) tests something that broke footfall. How would it make you feel?

That is apples and oranges. Footfall was designed into the game to give players who don’t run shops and use what they can gather to resource the stuff for themselves a little coin to buy some extra stuff. You know as well as I do there are still a ton of rock colors in the different types that are still not unlocked. This is not a game breaker. You do realize the player built Exo was done with the help of game managers not just a player on his own. They were trying something out. Due to the fact there is NO test server it happened. I don’t think this will break your bank. Still lots of rare stuff to make and sell. There are still players that buy stuff rather then make it as well. Footfall at this point with the player base is not anyone’s main source of income at this point with the player base. Not doing anything to possibly add to the game is worse. If what they had done worked flawlessly everyone would be cheering it on as something they found to add more to the game. So I am not going to complain about them trying something out to make the game more fun for all of us. Cheers

No matter how hard you footfall trap, there’s not a single chance you’re earning ANY profit running a portal network with just footfall.

You’re missing the point. I’m not saying that there’s profit running a portal network. It was an analogy to try to get someone to see this from a differing point of view.

Something unintended has been broken which pleases a lot of people and displeases the minority.

In this instance, I’m in the minority since I have been running the largest paint shop which sold 20 times more white paint than every other colour combined. Therefore I would mutate most light colour goo to white since white metamorphic rock had a 0.1% chance of ever being unlocked. It literally takes months to do this.

The problem with this logic is that your entire point is that you’re owed other people’s money. I’m not sure I can agree with reverting something like this for economic purposes.

I can kinda understand the collectors item argument, I personally can’t understand reverting it because someone is earning money off of it being rare.

A better analogy for what you’re saying is real world diamonds. It’s one of the most common things on the planet, but through arbitrary decisions it’s being kept artifically rare so the minority (in this case you) can earn filthy money off of it.

It’s a video game, I’m not using a real world analogy.

Over the years the devs made many decisions I didn’t agree with, but I accepted them because it was their design choice.

This is not by design, in my opinion it was a mistake.

Mistake or not, it’s not economy breaking.

Yep, not economy breaking but econodog breaking.

Peace out.

With the entitled attitude that you’ve shown, I’m so glad I’ve never visited your shop. :unamused:

With how goo works at the moment it is pretty much made defunct at the moment if the biggest selling colour is out. Its much easier to dedicate to making one particular colour when you get so few sprays, rather than on the fly to what you happen to sell out of, and the amount of work you have to put in to get a good selection is allot. I can see why this would be a hit to spray sellers.

But as you say it also points to an oversite of management, or perhaps more specifically to their lack of knowledge of the game. Which is not surprising, but an annoying revelation to keep being poked with.

On the other hand unlocking the gleam rock and gravel will help lots and lots of shops, and probably grow the economy more than it will hinder it. Just makes an update for Goo even more pertinent.

What planet do I need to warp from? Thanks

Besides the drama.

Thankyou to everyone that helped create the exo world.

It was a very nice gesture !

I under your frustration, I truly do. I was pretty frustrated myself because as a collector red gleam was unlocked, but knowing that this planet and the mistake has increased the peak player count by 30% even for a short time is a huge plus in my book and would actually help the economy more and increase traffic to your shop.

Just to add, I’m one of your largest customers of white spray, and even though it’s at 50c when it use to be around 30c and even though I have my own goo farm and like 25 gleam chests of white rock I still buy it. I buy it because I’m lazy and it’s easier to just buy it than harvest my farm and make the sprays myself.

But the reality is every color has a chance to spawn on a sovereign planet including white rock. The color palette for sovereigns does allow for white to spawn on a sovereign.

I’m sorry you feel as if this ruins the game for you that was never the intent. The intent was to give something to the community and that’s what happened.

Its not for everyone but for the hardcore color collectors and Item Display Malls. They screamed liked little kids on christmas…I hope :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s a good sign to see the Monumental team is giving at least some attention to Boundless. I like the idea of them being open to using content submitted by the community (in this case it was an exo planet). This is similar to them using seasonal sanctums made by the community.

I never understood why so many colors were unavailable when I see this game as primarily a building game. Sorry to the players who don’t like all of the colors being unlocked but I’m looking forward to seeing all of the new creative buildings that pop up around the universe utilizing the expanded selection of colors.

I’ve already started making white marble, mosaic, brick, and decorative meta. I’ve been wanting to use it for years and now that I have it, I’ll fight anyone to hold onto it.
