Minecraft wasn’t branded as pvp, and nobody thinks pvp when they think about the game, yet it was always enabled and a lot of people had a lot of fun with it.
I’m not sure we can have rational discussions anyway… I think it just proves the point that “not everyone they know likes PVP” and there are plenty of people that aren’t interested in it either right now or ever.
People seem to be highly sensitive about pvp
There seems to be a phenomenon in which PvP threads become, themselves, PvP…
English please? What is this supposed to mean?
That said, to answer the poll, I and a few others I know will LEAVE the game for good if any PvP even becomes a thing.
I’m all for anything that adds more functionality to builds. Right now you usually either decide if your public service will be a shop or a portal HUB.
I don’t need a reason to build things. I build because I really enjoy building, but a reason to build something is all the better - be it an arena or mini game.
We already have PVP in Boundless.
In truly classic gaming style, this is how we do battle… mostly here on the forums though unfortunately.
guildwars… if i read this i cant resist…
i think we should feel like a community, not like rambo… pvp destroys that community part more than egoism player at while… that not makes the big guilds getting closer for more community projects… this only does the opposite
I don’t think it would be a bad thing if there was 0 reward for winning, that way no one would feel pushed to do it. Pvp should always be optional and kept outside of the wild, most likely beaconed areas so players can have some control and could ONLY be entered after agreeing somehow. I’m not fussed if it happens or not but keep in mind it’s not just shooters that can cause conflict. If someone/group is acting abusive or uncivil then THEY need warned/banned, we shouldn’t let a minority stop us from having different game modes or most importantly fun
You are right, it is difficult to talk with the one who only sees what he wants to see and ignores everything that hurts him in his argument.
This survey does not prove that, I can have 3 friends in the game and all have voted the PVP and that affirmation of "everyone they know likes PVP” remains true. What demonstrates in any case is that at this time, there are NO majority who do not want the PVP. This survey tells us that the community is currently divided between those who want and those who do not want PVP. Divided community, without majorities.
If you use the search function (yes we have that)
Theres many threads about pvp and this is just another why bother just wondering sometimes I dont get it why something has to be brought up each time with failure each try. anywho besides that
Yeah pvp lovely in a way
as long as is doesn’t get in the way or exclude someone who wishes to play on peaceful mode, I’m all for it.
arena beacons, duelling, dungeons, minigames could be a way to go. with just a few beacon settings, interactive blocks / props we could make a lot of interesting stuff with various degrees of pvp

Guy Threepwood strikes again!
You saved 3 button presses, nice
By ‘weapon nerfs’ do you mean the numbers in which weapons do or the way the weapon works like fire rate and distance etc?
Because it wouldn’t matter about numbers in the current pve system we have, mobs health might as well be a number indicating the number of times they need to be hit with each weapon
Current weapons are good for the most part, but I would hate for something to work a little too well in PvP to the point that people scream, cry, throw a fit and beg for nerfs. Because at that point your awesome PvE slingbow gets downgraded to appease the PvP crowd this happened every frikkin week in Destiny.
Hey! Is that cutthroat island!?
Snes/gamegear
Haha, I had to google that and spent a minute reading about how terrible the movie apparently was before reaching the bit about the game.
And no I’m afraid not, though does look similar, that was The Secret of Monkey Island. One of the all time classic games, made back in 1990. Guybrush Threepwood was the hero and you dueled with other pirates by selecting the best insults and comebacks to throw at one another!! Fencing at it’s finest!
The whole monkey island series had some of the weirdest/trickiest/sideways logic puzzles in the good old graphic adventure game genre (I loved those).
And this was before the days of online wikis!
You had to figure it our yourself (or wait till a walk-through was published in a gaming magazine).

You young 'uns wouldn’t know where to start…
