i see lack of ‘different things’ as a common complaint in the reviews and it’s v1.0…
hope they make enough coin to continue adding content (and maybe even replace that ai cover art :D)
will be keeping my eye on this
I decided to give Fantasy Life i a try - very addictive!
Downsides: Bad camera at times, and (something that doesn’t matter to me) people aren’t happy about the multiplayer aspect.
The good: Sort of like Animal Crossing and Rune Factory gameplay elements in a world a bit like the last few Zeldas. TONS to do. Really cute writing.
Something that can be seen as a good or bad: start is very slow. I’d say pick a combat life to start, then rush the first two or three chapters. Starts really opening up in chapter 3.
They plan to add dedicated servers. They released a roadmap for this year. The plan was to add dedicated servers based upon game sales. Seems they sold enough to bring it to life.
I bought the full game and have been playing it every day since release. I’m putting boundless on hold for now.
I’ll have to say crafting is a lot simpler than Boundless. I’ve been to a variety of worlds and I’ve seen a variety of biomes. Now a lot of the planets do follow a theme, but it travel the landscape, you see changes in biomes.
One planet I went to, I thought it was an ice planet from orbit. It wasn’t.
It was a desert planet with white sands, scattered trees, and small bodies of water.
And another was 95% water, with several small islands.
Another I didn’t see coming and got really into quickly: Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Plays just like Skyrim (they call it a Scrollslike) with art style sort of like Elden Ring. It doesn’t have the polish of TES but I loved what I played of it and the plot already intrigued me.
@Zjawcia - To me, yes, though some might want to wait for a sale. It is a game someone could get hundreds of hours out of if really into, you get a base area and house that is much like Animal Crossing that could be messed with endlessly and maxing out all the lives would take quite a long time.
