Woohoo a third copy of it. Yay!
thanks for the heads-up bro!
Steam Summer Sale going, Iām burying myself in even more games. Been mostly hit with the Steam Deck, a few havenāt worked or had problems enough to set aside, but those are in the minority.
Preordered Stray this morning, also Rune Factory 5, which I have on Switch, but want for Steam Deck too. I went ahead and got The Quarry on PS4, as the dock for the Steam Deck got delayed and Iād rather play that one on a TV. Havenāt downloaded it yet. Iāll also get the new Saints Row on PS4 since it isnāt on Steam, been messing around with the Boss Factory a bit. I picked up Assassinās Creed Odyssey for Steam Deck - getting in initially was a pain, but once in, runs great and looks very nice, great game for virtual photography.
A fair bit of No Manās Sky and Minecraft going.
hard to resist those steam sales (even though already have a stack of unplayed games from previous sales)ā¦got Raft, Grim Dawn and Black mesa.
Played Raft for about 15 mins then remembered had to finish off a building in Boundless.
Might get stuck into Black mesa tomorrowā¦fond memories of that half life.
This is me. I have so many games on Steam that I have gotten on the Steam sales of via Humble Bundle that I still have not played. Literally hundreds of them.
I did take a few weeks and go through a few of them. A few single player ones that I knew I could beat in a few days etc.
On a side note: Started playing DayZ again as a game to break up some of the Boundless monotony. I usually spend 5-6 hours on Boundless a day on average, unless Im out with the family. Having a second game to play while concrete is cooking helps.
I did pick up Red Dead Redemption 2, a copy of DayZ for a friend, and a few indie titles
I bought ARK for I think 85% off last November and have yet to install and play it. I think the install size is what has been holding me back. 138 Gb of HDD space?! Thatās insaneā¦
itās more like 300-400 with all the maps and stuff (if you play on a cluster server or single player your character and your things are not bound to just one map -so thatās a lot of square kilometers of adventure )
if you can spare the gigs, the game is good fun (with friends or alone (Iād avoid official servers))
Yeah, the size of a lot of games these days is nuts. I donāt really want to do those kind of games at home any longer - takes days and slows the internet for everything else while doing it. I did get The Quarry on PS4 but waiting to download, as I mentioned. Steam Deck has a HUGE advantage for me where I can take it to campus wifi where I work, which is much faster than home. AC Odysseyās 82 or something GB took I think under 2 hours. But now, with the sale and all, Iām going to need another micro SD card for extra storage!
The size was the big reason I went ahead and uninstalled ESO from my PS4. I donāt feel like starting from scratch on Steam Deck so guess my days of that one are over.
Ark was ok, but Ark was just better with mods though. Not good enough toi keep me playing it though.
Ark 2 was announced not too long ago. I may pick it up when it comes out if any of my friends play, but honestly if no friends play it I may skip it. We shall see.
Any Albion Online players?
Additionally, any Escape From Tarkov players waiting on todayās wipe?
I play Tarkov a bit. I have been entrenched in DayZ as of late though.
I havenāt played Day Z yet, but I do really like Icarus
DayZ is a lot like Tarkov. Icarus is decent.
If anyone has VR Half Life: ALYX is great.
I havenāt played Albion in a while. It became a money pit.
Right now playing WoW for old times sake. So much content has been added since last I played that Iām still having fun exploring.
Iām currently playing Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 and Iām having a blast. A lovely looking game and just a bunch of fun.
Well if anyone picks up a coop or multiplayer game let me know be glad to join ya. I may stream DayZ tonight we shall see.
Oooh, howās Albion Online doing these days? The upper-tier PvP scene got a bit too toxic for me (like every PvP scene on the Interwebz), but Iāve been gone long enough that the nausea has subsided and has been replaced by nostalgia.
Theyāve added a lot more to do before the end game full-loot PvP stuff. Iām usually solo or in a small group, so I do a lot of the stuff outside of the army vs army black zone stuff.
The usual PvE solo/group dungeons are improved and static dungeons got reworked.
New arena is 5v5 non-loot PvP and has good rewards.
Faction flagging got reworked and is pretty fun and profitable for non-loot army vs army PvP
1v1/2v2/5v5 corrupted dungeons are good for running in full-loot zones since nobody can follow you inside and youāll get matchmade with enemies instead. Yellow zone rewards for those are also decent.
Finally, Roads of Avalon exist and are full-loot but a solo/small group can maneuver through them well enough to sneak out some loot. Thereās even a teleport home option when mounted now, so you wonāt get stuck running through map choke points on your way back anymore.
So summary: You still need to join an army for the guild vs. guild stuff, but thereās plenty to do that isnāt that if youāre on your own. A lot more layers of difficulty to ease into things.
That honestly sounds like a good thing. The old all-in/all-out approach seemed to terrify a lot of people into⦠staying all-out.
Is there any data for the level of participation with these other modes of play?
I can only speak for the zones around Thetford, but I can generally find a faction PvP zerg any day of the week. Just check the map around your main city and watch for when the faction outposts start blinking.
Arena queues are under 5 mins as healer and there are lots of LFG requests for dungeons/PvP.
