Please stop calling stone xp an exploit

Market was already flooded with stone imo. For months every store and it’s momma had a buying stone section.

I know I’ve been chunking thousands of it for months now. There needs to be more uses for it tbh.

Well there are those that dont build big and those that also use plots nefariously and the devs have to deal with those issues also, on top of dealing with everything else to keep the game running and shaping the game for future development. Noone here knows what they are planning or why they are doing things the way they are. They may be preparing for a future update that has yet to have any details released.

James made a post earlier about the reason why we have alts at all right now. If alts weren’t a thing, then this chase for the laziest exp for more alts to get more cubits to get more plots wouldn’t even be a thing.

It’s simply bad design decision (imo). Something they simply didn’t foresee when they made the decision to allow alts or to tie plots in to the rewards of leveling up.

E: as someone who came to the game after alts were already implemented, I think the original vision to have 1 avatar with multiple skill set pages would have been the best thing. As it stands alts are too easy to abuse in ways the devs didn’t intend but are powerless to really do anything about.

I would argue that the huge number of people grinding plots means the existing system for earning plots feels poorly rewarded. People are just going to grind something else for xp. Absurdium ad infinitum / reductionist ab absurdium suggests we just nerf all those one by one over time until there are no actions that earn you XP, and the only way to get plots is to pay real money for them. This suggests that a nerf is not the answer.

I am not so sure we would not have the same issue with players wanting the levels for skill sets? It might take longer but I think it would be happening and maybe more since the levels after 50 all cost 200,000xp.

You’re right. Any avenue that allows the player to engage multiple roles would likely suffer the same issues.

The only fix for that is locking a character to one role. Period. It sounds like that was the original design decision and they were talked out of it?

It’d be interesting to see how single role 1 character accounts would play out on test server.

I don’t think it will. Exo worlds are going to have a cost to reach. since you can not beacon on them you will have to warp to them. therefore I think unless the players actually want the color of rock to use for themselfs or maybe try to sell, they are just going to drop the rock, because there is a cost with transporting it back now.

Those of us with alts and multiple accounts will just ferry the items off the exo planets in bulk imo

How doses this get around the cost?

And is mutli-boxing even possible in this game? I thought it was hard to convince steam to run two clients

It doesn’t get around cost but it’s not as expensive since you can just bring it all back and recoup losses.

Just depends what the cost to and fro exp planets ends up going live at.

E: we have 4 pc’s and 3 ps4. We’re not talking modern multi boxing, this is more late 90s early 00s multi boxing, where multi boxing got its name. You couldn’t multi box back then unless you had multiple pc boxes(cases)

Ah i see. I am more used to the modern version of it that runs programs to copy control inputs to more then one client at a time.

So in an hour i so far got to lvl 50 and i was just starting 47, made 50k coin, and whole bunch of umbris coffers, i think i like this mining method better, pays for the hammers and i have my cubit gain, which is higher than what i got in stone lol

How did you make 50k coin mining?

Baskets, i got thousands of copper, iron, tech and coal. Didnt keep the stone plus the umbris coffers included which are 7, 500 coin like whaaaaat

And i only spent 24 on everything.

Lol i was going so fast the map wouldn’t load 90% of the time, could see through the mountain before it caught up loading.

I should probably give more detail. cheap AOE hammers with a zeal buff, damage mostly titanium. I had a few gem ones and that was crazy fast switched to titanium. Speed brew, and 2 pies one is still active half way.

3 to 4k xp before resting with full zeal, rest epic so it takes 2 seconds, another 3 or 4k if ur not hitting air pockets close to 5k xp.

OMG i got both energy epics im hittinf 10 to 12k xp every 28 seconds plus 5 seconds rest

Wow the level of destruction is un imaginable, the map started to glitch out really bad but, i was able to see all the caves and go around them, none stop hammering warning to people sensitive to flashing lights.

That wil be the consequence of 0 xp for stone, you will see holes and player made caves everywhere.

My strike granted me 7 levels. 120 plots.

Ironically, this seems to be the cause of 0xp for stone.

Coin profits?

I wonder how complicated (setup and space requirements) they will make the machine that pays coin for rocks.

I wonder if we can use it in a campfire plot.

I may be alone in this but I feel your comment was not needed. It clearly just started an argument and I don’t see how it was meant to add to the conversation.

It seems a more appropriate response to this post would of been points explaining why you think it should be called an exploit.

Will have to see, if anyone is buying 10k copper bars ill sell for 2c each lol.

That was my second run, didnt go to baskets but i could get 3c for the ore and one person is buying exactly 11k right now. My spark machine has 4million, compacting time  with a pie ofcourse.

Like i said, i will and many others wil find means to an end, prohibition doesnt work.

I can’t imagine the devs are feeling good after the amount of backslash this has stirred. I’d understand totally if they feel frustrated when the newest testing update has been met with this much dissatisfaction.

There are a lot of people that are overreacting and being rude for sure. That doesn’t excuse it.

If someone is being rude to you, being rude and argumentative towards them is not going to make the situation better. Yes, maybe in that moment it feels good to blow that bit of steam off with a quick comment. In the end it just encourages the behavior that is causing the frustration in the first place.
