Currently sitting at 10 characters, 8 of which are now max level. I like being self sufficient. If I was willing to be part of the economy, I would probably go without any hunters. Once the next tech tier comes out, my extra crafters will be useful.

why do u need extra crafter?
Some of the epic crafting skills are either or so if you want the skill it requires another character
I’m leveling all 10.
Crafter with 3 skill sets (Tool/Tech/Weapon), Hunter/Gatherer, Miner, Lumberjack, Forgemaster/Brewer, Shoveler/Cook, Tax Evader/Builder/Portal Opener, a second and third hunters (to specialize in different atmospheres and free up points) and the last one will probably be another miner for the same reason.
Or a different skill set.
