Proposed solution to issues around hunts and overlap issues

Not really because then on other days those time slots would be available for others. The fact is a hunt that happens every day at said time locks up the calendar even more and keeps others from having access to those times. It is a full day event not just one hunt. With a calendar system when the new month is coming up you get your time slots listed. It becomes a first come first serve deal where if you want that time slot next month you get to the calendar quicker next time.

The point is only having a slot 2 or 3 days a week means there are 2 or 3 other days that others have access to that slot. There will always be an issue of the calendar filling up but it allows for more groups to have access to the potential of running hunts themselves that are for the community.

Wouldnā€™t this become yet another issue of ā€˜hoggingā€™ the timeslot then? As we mentioned before, there are people from all around the globe, and they all work around different timezones. The calander for next month however will only open for everyone at the same time, making it easier for people from specific timezones to be the one first served.

That is exactly why a centralized location of this information is needed if we are to make the playing field of hosting hunts more fair and accessible to the community.

If they are always on the same days that is not inconsistent. It is still consistent just not an every day event that keeps others from having an opportunity at running hunts when they too can have loads of players show up.

And as a community if we setup a calendar system that aid in this I am sure the devs would acoomodate making it a sticky post so that everyone could find it easily. This to me is a non issue if we do it right and yes some people will always get confused but it doesnā€™t justify totally locking up time slots.

This could be handled with timezone based calendars and we all agree that we respect timezones. There is a way around that and to alleviate the symptoms there in.

In my opinion, you need to have a system to make sure every slot gets filled when people want to fill them, then. Let people say ā€œI want all 7 days, but if I have to pick three, I pick Mon, Wed, Friā€. That way the other slots only get filled in by other groups if there is real actual competition for the slot, rather than leaving it open for the sake of avoiding negotiation.

a hunt calender would be great for helping organize whos hunting when, but maybe try to get rid of the competition by having certain groups hunt consistently on certain days of the week (as i mentioned earlier, X group gets monday tuesday, Y group gets wednesday thursday friday, Z group gets weekends) and even it out to allow all groups to get a fair amount of time instead of the ā€œfirst come first serveā€ system. keep consistency. aim for organization. allow everyone to have a fair amount of time.

Ummm that is exactly what my original post was conveying. I never suggested leaving stuff open just to ā€œsee ifā€ people will fill them but give them opportunity to have a chance at a good time slot. Just like @DJDancecraft suggested

BINGO DINGO! ALL OF THIS! Exactly what the goal is!

I didnā€™t see in your OP how you handle when someone wants to fill a slot but nobody else wants it. Does your system not dictate that that slot must be left open, with no organized hunt?

I never implied that a slot MUST be left open at all.

We can set a community standard that if a day and time is still available at a certain point before the following month anyone may take that slot for the next month.,

That is exactly what this means.

But I see that isnā€™t what you meant, and I missed it hiding in one of your posts

But I think a lot of why I didnā€™t understand what you meant here is that I didnā€™t know you mean to finalize a calendar at the beginning of the month, and to require hunts to re-request each month, which would counter this scenario, since you can alternate months or weeks when building the next monthā€™s schedule

Which is effectively what I said here:

I fundamentally disagree with this whole thing(the slot reservation rules, not having a calendar), but it looks like itā€™s at least not a destructive proposal. The way it reads in OP, at least to me, it sounded like if Brown or Core was at their 4 hunt limit, then they canā€™t get any more on the calendar and that is that.
As it is, it is likely to be confusing to anyone without (and many with) access to the calendar, but doesnā€™t force there to be days with no hunts at all in a timeslot, which was my primary reason for vocally disagreeing.

Hmm I understand what you are getting at. However, I run our hunts daily. We are the only T3 hunt and we are sought after by new players and others. We gather a large group and we have very loyal hunt members. We worked our way to this stage and Iā€™m proud of what we have achieved for ourselves as a guild and for new players who no longer have to grind to afford basic materials and tools and portals.

That was never implied that and I have said several times that if time slots are still open at a specific time then it can be taken by anyone

Like I said in my main post. I totally applaud everyone that does the hunts for the community and the time and effort it takes to arrange them and keep them going.

This topic has kind of derailed and I want to bring it back to focus.

Which is we can all work together to share and allow others time too have hunts as well. By centralizing the hunt info and times. You really loose nothing by reducing every day to 3 days and if slots are still available at a certain point take them and claim them each month.

This is about working together and making easier for everyone to have an opportunity.

SHARING IS CAREING

Genuinely, people have told me they log on to hunt with me and Brown. I will run hunts every day at the same time for as long as people show up to hunt.

I say why put so much work into creating something like a what your talking about? I rarely check forums for hunt posts because I get SO many notifications already for hunts going on everyday!!!
I remember the time when not a single hunt would go on for daysā€¦
Now you can run at least 5 in a single day everyday.
I get what your talking about, if you want to run a hunt, just run one. If it goes during another time slot just be mindful of the planet or join them like @Lesioui said.
There are so many hunts going on already that itā€™s not hard at all to find a hunt!

I was attempting to help the community not get this type of response. This saddens me that you arenā€™t even willing to discuss the idea and just dismiss it outright, because I have mad respect for you Beth.

Iā€™m not dismissing anything. Iā€™m saying that what is best for my hunters and what is best for my guild is to run our hunts as we usually do. That is what they want, the second they tell me otherwise I will stop running them.

Do not suggest something and then try and shame me for disagreeing with your suggestion. I will do what is best for the community, always.

Iā€™m done it was a suggestion, I wasnā€™t shaming. I donā€™t like being shamed and I donā€™t shame people.
I was making an observation based off what you said. Beth, please donā€™t twist my words.
I really like what you guys do for the community but there has been issues around hunts and all this thread was for was to DISCUSS a solution, not start a bickering match.
Thanks for everyoneā€™s valued input.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

I say nothing needs to change, if people wanna run a hunt just make sure itā€™s not in the same world as a existing hunt time. People will hunt with the leaders they wanna follow.

As the community grows the numbers will increase based on where everyone is locations WW.
