They need to add more mobs in general everywhere, the game is extremely lacking in the number of creatures and it is quite sad. Minecraft has at least 60 different creatures, boundless has 5.
Totally agree. But I think all that will come in time.
hopefully the new team can fix whatever problem caused the other team to abandon the planned creature.
4 years āin the makingā
I donāt think they were ever abandoned. They just couldnāt get them completed. The dev team was helping with BG3 long before they announced the transition to larian. In a year when there is a dev team in place and hopefully they can work out the problems. And we can start to see some new things. But we wonāt be seeing anything new coming until then.
Maybe not, but it sure felt like it thou.
Agreed. Also there are 5 models for each creature I believe. Now they all have the same AI though. And none of the creatures are boxes either. I personally I donāt like the Minecraftās character and creature designs. But they fit in the minecraft universe. So whatever I guess.
There are, but I donāt count variants, since it is basically the same thing, just larger for the most part. not very exciting to me.
Surprisingly i have met many a player in Boundless that all they really want to do is build. They hunt once in awhile only to get Oort for portals or coin.
They also arenāt a bunch of cubes put together. Also not exciting.
Boundless and minecraft creatures are completely different.
If you look at some of those models they are the same with different texture maps.
@Wondernut btw Iām one of those said builders.
I like this idea more variety in resources and possible recipes for additional items or alternate recipes for current items that give them a different look or ability.
An amazing one at that with amazing creativity!
I was frustrated by this exact dynamic. They were promising or saying one thing but then was working on something else. I just accepted that there are things I wasnāt privy to internally.
Iām confident that most of the vets who stayed is because they just want to build. And those who hunt only do so as a means to build. I donāt think many people stay because they actually find the PVE experience to be exciting.
Im not a vet but I stuck around to build, mine, hunt (I hunt mostly for Oort, but its still pretty fun on Discord with a fun group), I scan and explore exos. I still visit a ton of builds when people mention them. I run a shop and currently building a color storage that will eventually be a shop.
Maybe some vets can chime in.
Yeah Iām with you on this. I primarily like building. But I do a bit of everything. When I donāt have ideas for builds. I forge and sell forged gear in my many shops around my place. I hunt both for Oort and and to socialize with other players. Hunting can get stale but in a good smaller group itās still very fun. I explore people builds whenever someone says hey you wanna check out my build. Iām always interested in seeing what people create. I craft as much as I can unless Iām in a pinch and just wanna build. I donāt mine very often or collect materials unless I really have to. But in those cases I get way more then Iāll need. Iāve completed all the atlases once when I was really bored. But thereās always things to do if you want.
This. I would love it if the mobs even on T1ās became aggressive at night.
Certainly not complete with MCā¦ not reason too but I believe Boundless should move away from MMO and support more on the building side than if currently does. It is a creative game more than a role playing game at its core. Sure quests, bosses, and stuff like that are nice but there are too many current things that need major rework to keep player retention.
Iām not one to judge graphics. I loved 7 days to die on console. It was my first voxel and where I discovered my love to build. It looked horrible lol.
But I could not do MC. I tried many times and I really couldnāt get past how it looked. Iām sure redstone is fantastic and I would love to see sometime similar added to boundless but for me the building is unmatched here. Even with the render distance.
The render distance is there for a reasonā¦ even MC had a render distance limiter. If there was no render distance it would make even the most powerful computer have little to no FPS.
Yeah for sure there needs to be limitations but it donāt mean I got to like it lol
I stayed because I was good at gem mining. Once alutech went deadā¦I was done as a miner. So I am in the minority here as I Only gathered. I hate building.
