Quests?

well enough with derailing the thread. head over to the linked one

it would be a check system set by the Player market also not a dominating thing that you have to go by
if that specific town is selling leather for 100 gold on that day then players that are new to leather items would have an idea and if one leather vendor in the market rise the price then the check would avg it out and got up as well so all determined by players how want good prices and also want good profits

different towns would have different check values and small towns wouldn’t have them at all

as for the scam thing that’s is just dumb I take it you don’t live in the US and in California there was a big issue in 08/09 what had to do with the state being stupid and the greedy banks as well as with fraud

was just something to help players feel slightly more informed if there not in the makerting side of the game or if there new

some players might be like oh I can get good prices for selling leather and I can get it pretty easily so you have them wanted to get you leather

again. How would it know. you say as if the system can scan the prices with ease, what if i have a mate i owe money and i pay him 2k gold and he decide me to give a piece of leather he found, would that increase it massively? would they have to code a system that would combine all of the trades that has happened in a specifc area?

There could be a board. You go up and put in what you want, then you put in how much your willing to pay. Someone goes up and selects it, it sends you a notification, when they complete it and bring it back to the board the money/stuff is taken from your account.

in theory amazing, that is just a want to buy / want to sell bulleting board, or more like an auctioneer box. so you say for example ‘‘WTB iron sword’’ and a person could go put in an iron sword and get the money? cause that would be neat, but what if they allow modifications to modify the iron sword? what about elements? that would end up kind of complicated.

well if players form a town in a beacon like a guild town or something they could just set prices and then it could go off of that and negotiating wouldn’t affect the price because its not effecting the base price which can be changed by the shop owner and negotiations could start there

it was just an idea it doesn’t really matter thou

its nice to throw out ideas, but it just sounds awfully complicated and would completely undermine any idea of selling stuff. the price of an item is what people are willing to pay. baseprices is also hard to say again because of supply and demand, if i have 1000 pieces of iron i would be able to sell them cheap since i have them in excess but if i sell almost all of them then i might only have 50 pieces left and they would be much more valuable.

That only works if there is a limited supply. If there is a limitless supply of Iron that can be dug up and smelted down, then the price of iron is more so the price of time getting it.

well that would change it lol it goes off of all the shops in that town while small towns would just do there own thing so supple and demand would have an effect on it

guess there is no use discussing it. keep the idea and try to post it for them to see, but it is just extremely complicated and would ruin the fun of having a shop, so play with the idea but dont expect it to be implemented.

its not a big deal I was just trying to explain the misunderstanding of some of it lol

yeah sorry. its just a near impossible thing to implement in my eyes, because unlike wow where everything sold goes through a global AH the things ‘‘sold’’ in the city would be through trading, which would to work would require that it collects data on ALL trading that happen in the area and then filtrate what is sale and what is normal trading

If I understood it right, grey means more like: I write a price on a (special?) sign and put it at my shop. The game will then take all the prices of the shops in a town (which were written down) and calculate an average selling price for everything.

That still takes too many things out of the players hands in my opinion. If a market needs such a list, they’ll make it on their own.

it would be a beacon thing so the player wouldn’t be doing extra they would just list the item and the price

so like
Shop A sells leather for 100g
Shop B sells leather for 125g
Shop C sells leather for 300g
and so on. all of the shop that sell leather would then avg all of them would give the leather value of that town for that day or whatever the case amount of time is and it would be an effect of all the shops listing prices this would mostly be for larger and guild towns

also based on supple and demand the value would change
tie guild funded quest to it and you have the gain of these quest rotating so oh yesterdays quests give less then todays quests

so really a changing value to determine what an item is worth in that area and what the quests could give

but yea mostly the idea is to be put down lol

what if i just trade in hand? just ask for them and dont write them down anywhere? what if the average pcie is 20g but i put one down to 15k what would then happen to the average price?

It would go with like items that are put to be sold in shops so nothing that isn’t put up would have no on it

HAnd trades would have no effect on it

And I thou it would be for like a tool for big cities to manage quests and other things each city would have there own

So it would be up to a group of shop owners to sell the price

If you dropped the price in the market it would drop price but if other shop owners set the same item it would just avg the prices out for like quests

so what if i set it to 15k? also what were to stop me from just selling everything in hand, if there are 100 iron ore sold in the city and i am the one selling 90 of them doing it over trade instead of having the massive spynet looking at my stuff and i sold it to half price of the others then they wouldnt sink.

Then it wouldnt matter if you did it my hand

It would be for big towns like guild towns or a group that runs that town so only thous people cold sell in shops at that town so dealing with prices with other players

But like if a guild made a quest asking for leather that qeusts would give so much gold if that town started getting less of a another item that’s items price goes up and quest important could rotate

If you sky rocket the price you probably wouldnt sell anything and the group that your in probably wouldnt be happy either

Of course you could have an auction house and it wouldn’t matter but players would go to be in your shop browsing your goods

And if your out of that town it doesn’t apply

that seems like such a massive waste of resources…

but nvm, it seems you will keep to the idea no matter what, so thats fine.

It’s already be decided that it’s not important other people just asked about it and you jumped in lol
