It was more just a general statement. It’s still available to farm, even though you know “there’s none left”
And my point about the casual players was extremely plausible. Regardless if you have time to play the game or not, is nobody’s fault other than your own. I’m not saying that it’s always your choice etc but fact is, if you’re online when an exo spawns then rightly so you should get some of the spoils. Everyone is on a level playing ground here, nobody has an advantage what so ever over the next person.
I miss a lot of the exos at the start and I still have a good amount of the resources I need. I suppose that’s why I don’t understand the problem here.
My point is that even hardcore players may be in the same situation. Why is this a discussion about casual players? I know you were responding to an casual player complaint.
I think it is more constructive to discuss an actual solution or address the benefits of the current implementation. Saying if you can’t make time, then it is your fault is not likely to be productive.
The solution is having more EXO worlds that spawn throughout the week. There really is no real reason to have down time between waves of EXOs. Just have at least 3 up at all times. Gives players plenty of opportunities to go there and get what they want. Makes it more possible for people to meteor hunt as well. I think this would benefit everyone.
The reason you see people talking about “supply” is because they are focused on the holistic demand of the item and not directly linking it back to the economy and someone that is selling things. There is a clear demand for the item - people want it for building, farming, etc.
It is fun for those that like to explore. It is fun for those that like game systems that provide fairness and work to be required to reward.
The dead horse you are beating isn’t the right one. The one some of us is talking about is alive and trying to get away from all the de-buffing people causing the chaos.
What is needed, in my humble opinion, for now is a IN GAME alert for an exo. This would greatly help People who for whatever reason dont do discord/PS discord. @james and Input on that Maybe?
This is kind of out of left field, but what if when you leave an exoplanet you are sent a small package with materials based on how long you’ve been there, how many regions you’ve seen, blocks broken, and so on?
Nothing too crazy, but the idea being if you go and explore/hammer it up on day five, you’re still likely to get a few resin/whatever sent your way, regardless of other players.
Anyway, I do agree some of these resources are too easily monopolized.
I think that would certainly be a benefit (beyond seeing them in the sky wherever you are), but only really helps those that are in game at the time.
The PS bot tips that balance as it alerts people when they’re out of the game, allowing them to jump on and reap the benefits (sometimes waking them up at 2am in the morning ).
I did previously have a notification system which I was looking to setup on the BoundlessCrafting site, but discontinued with it after the endpoint that exposed that data changed.
I think a fair system that could also work outside of the game would also be a great help.
Nice! Along the same lines, just throwing out ideas here, what about having random treasure chests/boxes that spawned on the exos? Could have a cache of any of the planet’s rarer mats, could spawn anywhere on it - fields, caves, underwater. It would be yet more incentive to explore, too. Even maybe have a stat of how many have been found (ex: 245/500 chests found).
How about leave it as it is, but the catch is you have to harvest it with a forged spoon!!! Us casuals will get to find it while the hardcore get it all after putting in their 12 hour game time!! It will boost the economy and and everyone can say they found resin!!! Yay everyone is happy!!
this is not grind tho this is buy some hot pockets…get a pee jar and camp out for a exo to spawn if we where talking about something that just normally spawned on reg worlds then sure but its a "limited time event " item that is needed for the core game that cant be regained
this ^
im not sure if the debuff would help or not but for sure it seems someting needs to be done cuz exos are just too setup right now for the drop everything and load up the game people
Or perhaps the drop rate is very high at first (higher than now) and dimishes with drop qty/hour.
I really like this idea. I still think you could get a lot, but it would def help the stuff stick around longer. And I can still think of strategies to get lots, but it would take a lot more effort.
Unless you’re in the EU then they spawn right before you wanna go to bed…
Tho, I I can be flexible with sleeping times so I don’t mind it too much, but many people won’t be able to go to them when they spawn after 22:00 (10pm)…
