agreed. based on those two screenshots the colors are pretty bad now
Is there any particular reason why this has to be only every 15 minutes? If you create purely miner/gather build with a secondary skill set as a hunter for defence whilst out exploring then surely there will be times when you might need to switch between the 2 on a regular basis for defence. It’s fine for lower level planets where a miner could relatively easily defend themselves but as you progress you’ll want to go to ever more dangerous places to get the more exotic/rarer items. A quarter of an hour to switch between skill sets which you have earn’t seems like a pretty long time. It just seems to be a bit upside down that you can switch freely while at your home beacon were there’s not going to be any immediate danger as opposed to out in the wild where it is that you need to swap more often.
I don’t how people feel about it, but i think cubits should be an account thing and not per character same for coins.
I’d say that was the very reason for having the 15 minute cooldown. If you can keep switching your skillset immediately at the simple press of a button, why even have the 100 skill point cap at all?! It all comes down to not being able to do everything at the same time and having diversity within a group (especially when it comes to combat).
I thought it was pretty much along those lines, just found it a little bit frustrating while mining to constantly be coming up against mobs when my character is speced for mining plus when atmospheres come into effect and higher tier planets I was wondering how that’s all going to affect the spreading out of skill sets to allow you to do what you actually set out to do but at the same time defend yourself. It’s fine for a hunter because that’s all they are setting out to do in groups going after meteorites. It’s also fine for a builder/crafter because they’re at a beacon so can swap skill sets without the 15 minute penalty so really it’s primarily miners and gatherers that are the only ones really affected by this when it comes to protecting themselves when out in the wild.
Btw. Are atmospheres ready for 1.0? @james
Sorry to be boring & pedantic but I don’t think he was asking for everything. Being able to gather efficiently & also defend yourself when aggroed is not an unreasonable expectation on a capped character with two skill sets unlocked. That is far from everything now offered by Skills.
I don’t find 15 mins unreasonable until the time I’m happily doing some gathering, get jumped and am quickly killed. The high level mobs don’t mess around now - they’ve had base HP buffs and more buffs. It feels like the defensive attributes and skills you need to not get quickly fried take quite a chunk out of a skill set, even if you just plan to run away. Atmosphere defence required soon enough too. That could be alleviated if you could swap out more quickly (or even just a selected subset of skills).
I think the challenge with that is how you can have a Cubit farming character that’s level 50 that can grind out Cubits for Coffers and then you can just buy Dark Matter Coffers with new characters and level up that way along with EXP gain from crafting. It just creates a form of power leveling. Then again, that’s how Community Hunts basically were and nobody complained about that.
But I do agree that Cubits should be account wide and not character based.
Does that mean you could create a second character, power through all the easy low levels to get cubits then use your main character to spend them on plots etc then just delete the second character and rinse and repeat?
True, he wasn’t asking for everything, but that is ultimately how it would end up when you have 3 skill sets unlocked.
I don’t find it unreasonable either … and for the example you give, you can still switch to a combat spec to get yourself out of that hairy situation… you then have a 15 minute cooldown before you can switch back again.
I do get the whole 15 minute cool down to stop someone being able to do everything on one character easily …It just seems a bit unbalanced at the moment …As I said earlier, hunters go out on community hunts in groups to defeat meteorites so it doesn’t really affect them, any activity at a beaconed area such a crafting, building, using the forge can all be swapped as many times as you want with no time penalty … but miners/gatherers also need to be able to defend themselves and unfortunately the mobs aren’t aware of the 15 minute rule.
My question is if I use my cubits to get a additional character will the new character be there after 1.0 I’m thinking it wont but just wanted to find out for sure. ty
All characters, skills, cubits, plots, levels etc will be wiped at 1.0 we will all be starting new with nothing except the totem and light cube
We are starting mid August with a new universe I think and that’s the wipe. We play for a couple of weeks before official release, a bit of a head start. On the 11 of September we lose nothing.
Am I right or wrong?
Correct. Unless the launch date actually changes.
I’m pretty sure your right in that what we have created, leveled etc from the head start we get will continue into 1.0 otherwise there would be no point in the head start.
Ah ok so you meant current gains getting wiped. I misunderstood your previous post.
The only caveat being - if you are using other food for a buff, you don’t want to get the Well Fed buff, as it will override your current buff. I think the highest energy-replenishing food without a buff is Cooked Prime Meat, plus, not positive, but I don’t think you need to take any cooking skill to create it.
In the Centraforge, I used some items in my first forging, then when I attempted a second forging, a couple of the boon boosting items did not appear, leaving empty spaces. When I eventually tried clicking on the spaces, it shows the names, so apparently the items are ‘there’, but don’t show the graphic.
Actually, the items aren’t there, even though it shows their names, I can’t drag them/use them in the forging process.
Also, this is probably just part of the known ‘names not appearing’ issue, but wanted to mention it in case it helps: When trading, and the person trading with cancels the trade, their correct name does not appear as the responsible party for the cancellation.
