I don’t think there should be the option to be against it.

A town needs food so we need a farm! If we don’t build it we will starve to death :scream:

We could also be gatherers and hunters^^ Or you could want an underground farm, a more modern farm.
There’s sometimes a reason you’re against something that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re against the idea as a whole.

i havn’t regarded the barn as the only way to build a “farm”.

the survey is missleading in my opinion. is he asking for permission to build some sort of food supply building (farm) or is he asking for permission to build the barn shown in his image ? i’ve interpreted the question as the first one (food supply).
i think we need some kind of “farm” (regardless the shape or architecture) for food supply because gathering and hunting becomes damn inefficient the more the population grows.

I interpreted it as the first one too. Since he gave us only places to decide where to build the farm the general direction of the style seems to be barn like. And I’d say most people will read it as if that was implied too.
Therefore the reason some people would want to vote for no such farm but wouldn’t be against a farm in general.

If the vote is just about the area in general and the style would be decided later then I agree with you there shouldn’t be a no farm option.

Well to answer your questions:

  • the vote is just about the place (and to say no in general to the idea of a “farm”)
  • replies are for discussing the design.

The picture of the barn was a concrete proposal of design. I’d like it that way, it’s not too giant / too futuristic, but seems to have enough storage for seeds / crops / harvested vegetables (even more since we can use storage boxes) and animals.

The building should be in center of the used space, it’s most handy if you carry your goods from the field in.

But feel free to tell me, if you like it other way.

Everyone should have the option to use a veto :wink: Even when it was more rethorically. I was not expecting that the mayority is against it. But the spirit of democracy should be carried on in this settlement.

so now we have round about 80-100 new/free places(in a size from 1x2 plot) in our marktplace. i have finish now the grid.

not sure where you found 80-100 new slots (there are maximum around 40-50) but good work :smile:

i count 96 full fields, if we delete the 2 much to big building (now we have 1 more to bug building).

if we dont destroy this buildings we have still 86 over

so there are 80-100 FREE fields … not NEW fields :smiley:

and in fact, there are some fields already used :smiley: so they are neighter free nor new :smiley:

It is :wink: if in half a year the server will still be in use, we will see how many people we got there. If then there is too much space, we can maybe use it for a different thing too.

And since I see, that we have that much fields, maybe we can higher the shop size in general up to 2?

Many guys anyway already did it. My idea of small shops got 2 intentions:

  1. on the market place are as many participants as possible
  2. you have to think wisely what you want to offer on your plinths, because the maximum number of plinths due to the shop size is very limited. Also i think it’s more interesting o see different goods in each shops. If everyone has plenty of space for plinths you will probably see the same stuff in every shop just with different prizes.

So what do you think? 1 beacon shops as general rule should stay or 2 beacon shops?

Besides, I think the farm is decided. Noone is against and most are for place 2. I think I will surround the area soon with walls if noone else already did.

I think we should higher the standart Shop size to 2 Plots/beacons, we have more as enough space

I think 2 would be the best that way if needed you can expand the city on both sides

Dear all,

I just have marked the place for the “farm”. When I took the picture the word “Farm” as a placeholder was still in work. On one site I respected a natural “cliff” as limitation. Is that okay or do you better like a complete square field?

Second (also as a placeholder) I marked the ground in about middle of the fenced area. We can now discuss the design of the center building. I already made a proposal of how could it look like (see the picture above at the voting).
Do you have other ideas wishes?

As explained in the beginning this by the way is a puplic project. Everone can help building / shaping it due to what we define now.

i think full square is better. you have still build over 1 natural cliff so why not go over 2 natural cliff.

As information for all we have atm round about 90 free market places with a size from 2 Beacons

i think, if all fields full we have 100 shops, thats enough XD
