Skill Sets are ridiculously angering off new customers

Skill sets need to be explained, so people don’t waste 600 cubits on a skill set then not have enough for an Alt.

That and actually there should be a possibility to undo this mistake, as this is way to easy to make :frowning:

Maybe give the option to return an unused cubit purchase for 24 hours? If buy plots and use them then no refund if you buy an alt and then create it no refund, or if you buy skill sets and apply skills, no refund? Would this be too late or would people have realized their mistake before allocating skill points?

Or someone could copy and paste “Warning, do not buy until Level 50” into the description…

But even at Level 50 it’s useless.

As a new player who recently did buy the skill set thinking it worked similarly to every other game, I can confirm that it was very frustrating. I felt like I just spent five bucks on something that turned out to be useless. Some clarification on how they work up front would be appreciated.

Sorry that happened!

Or, you know, share the skill sets like other games.

I have been asked in the past to suggest wording when there was an issue like this. As someone newer to the game do you have a suggestion on wording so it is clear before people buy? My perspective might be different as I have played longer so you might be better with making sure it is clear.

Extra skillpage for level 50+

Simple description.

By the time people reach level 50, they’ll know what it is for.

I wouldn’t. I still would have zero idea how it works lol.

It would be helpful to have a description that highlighted how skill points are not shared between sets and how using a skill point in one set excludes it from another. The current description isn’t misleading, it’s just too subtle for the substantially different behavior one would normally expect from a skill set mechanic.

Almost made this same mistake, luckily i saw it on forums right before i pulled the trigger. But everyone doesn’t read the forums , especially brand new people.

Or just make 2 items. And describe them as “Page for skill points 101-200” and “Page for skill points 201-300”, that’s about as unambiguous as you can make it.

And yes, I googled and asked on Discord before I bought one, and am glad I did.

I was thinking maybe an example like “if you have 40 skill points they are allocated between skill sets, so for example you can use 25 skill points in skill set 1 and 15 in skill set 2 for a total of 40. Your characters total skill points are allocated between skill sets.”

What if they “locked” it. So, it wouldnt become available until lv 50+

I do know a few people that are using it before level 50. I don’t understand fully how they are making it work, but they seem happy with the decision.

Why would they? They can be useful before 50 in some specific cases. For example, having multiple crafting specializations that would be mutually exclusive (tech / tool / weapon crafting specialization under Epic 3 for example) on the same character.

A fully maxed out crafting specialist for tools or weapons or tech only needs 22 skill points total. So it’s quite feasible to use all three skill sets on a crafter before level 50.

Tis a fair point. However, the newcomer doesn’t necessarily know about these things. I think that for a person completely unfamiliar with the game and maybe they dont want an alt then the +1 skill set seems a viable option. So, in order to curtail any disappointment, it could be locked til one Character has reached a higher level, maybe 50+ is too high, but i stand by my thought.

I suggest this one month ago, and dev haven’t fixed it yet XD
The best way is to make it like normal MMORPG, you can switch with ur total points, not the extra points.
Or Remove it from the game…

Even level 50, this skill set is still useless, because after level 50 is extremely hard to level up. Level 100 will cost at least 1- 2 month i believe (especially they remove the rock experience)

As result, even you reach to level 50 you will only have around 10 points to use in 1 - 2 weeks (If you are trying to level up very hard). A 10 points skill set is like level 5 new character which is complete useless in my opinion.

While that’s true, I think it’s too complicated to bother keeping in game.
