I don’t have a good solution, I’m just posting from the position of a noob.
I have a lvl 23 construction build. Chisels, hammers, that sort of thing. Three points in Vit and Pow and a point in shields and that epic that triples your HP…and I’m terrified of T3 worlds. I can’t last more than five minutes outside of town. I’ve hit a wall where I can no longer get higher tier resources and I’m forced to pay way too much for mats to build gear. I’ve never seen Silver or higher in the wild and I’ve only seen iron ore once. T1 Stout wilds will mess me up if I’m not careful. I’ve only seen a meteor once and didn’t get within 200 blocks of it before I died.
Why not make an alt, and make him the dedicated builder, there’s very few actual building skills besides dexterity, control, and chisel epic stuff, and then give your current guy the followin’ skills:
8/8 power, 4/5 all stats, damage epic, 3/vitality, hammer stuff.
You can 3-shot stout cuttletrunks and stout wildstock with an iron bow at that point.
Also, iron is everywhere on T3 metal worlds if you find caves or dig to 15-40 range.
No, but they can be added to your beacons from the permissions tab, quite easily. The only thing they cant do is take the coin from footfall, so far that ive noticed.
Edit: Provided you give them all perms, there are 3.
Making an alt is definitely the best option in my opinion. And as a side note, I do not actually play this game to build. I have built my shop and will build myself a home and that’s all the building I plan on doing in this game. So it’s certainly not fair to say building is the only thing to do in boundless. For me, it’s the least appealing thing to do(:
Yeah this why i said either remove skill set or make it acting like ohter games.
Right now the fact you can’t deny it is, only crafter need that before level 100…
Also not everyone want to craft both food / gears.
So its really not a useful function in my opinion.
As I said before, just take it out completely. Maybe make it a reward for hitting level 50 (40? 30?) with a proper explanation, and only then open up additional ones. Or something… I’m just thinking out loud here, but I agree that currently they serve no purpose for 99% of the players.
Surely the most simple solution is to let players sell back an empty skill set (so if they’ve spent points, they would still have to reset it) for the cubits it cost?
My main focus will be my shop. That in itself will take up a lot of my time. I plan on opening up with all the foods and brews and just collecting the materials to stay stocked will keep me busy. Any extra time I have will be spent collecting resources for crafting since I love crafting in this game. Keeping a healthy stock of high level weapons and tools will likely consume the rest of my time. When I’m well stocked on everything I’ll spend my time on my hunter. None if this requires building after I’m initially set up.
I want it in game too, but I want it like tradition Skillsets (think World of Warcraft).
So when you are level 50, if you buy both skill-set-tabs, you have all points to use.
I think having to level from 1 to 50, then 50(1-50) and 50(1-50) AGAIN is just stupid.
It makes NO SENSE to level just ONE toon when you get more plots if you have an alt.
One again, please make it to traditional Skillsets, so when I am level 50, (and I bought both tabs) I can freely swap between my skillsets – but only swap skillsets if you are at your main beacon control. To prevent cheesing, since I am sure someoen will find a way, make it so you can only change your main beacon control once every 24hrs. Also, remove the 15 min swap lockdown if you do change at your beacon control.
This is angering me too. I love the game so far but this is a huge turn off. They really need to change it so it works like a traditional MMO where I have my full set of earned skill points to spend in EACH skill sets I unlock. I don’t want to spend months unlocking another set of skill points after I hit level 50.
