Is getting teleported to surface by regen bomb an intended mechanic by the devs? If not, then I would say it classifies as an exploit. Personally I would say that it is and not something I think is appropriate gameplay. But in case that devs have come to the conclusion that such unintended effect is actually desirable gameplay then of course it would not be an exploit after all.
Id think it only an exploit if you were to gain something substantial and unintended by doing so… gaining Cs or mats or XP.
Really this (And regen bombs) just cut the process of returning to sanctum and bumping your warp to get out.
Excellent work! Even if I did read the two topics in the wrong order
I agree, I’m sure it’s not intend in the way I’m using my it, but I assume the mechanic is intended to prevent death?
Thanks Trickyy! Hahah yeh as soon as I posted the “Mk II” version, someone bumped the “Mk I”
This mechanic is a symptom of error resolution. You’ve created a situation which shouldn’t exist, so the system attempts to find a reasonable resolution.
There is no circumstance where this idea has a negative effect on anyone. Simply taking advantage of a mechanic in an awesome and creative way that everyone can implement and enjoy on tall builds etc. I love it Ovis.
Didn’t read everything, but is it possible to set this up where the “public” can use it? Or does it require permissions to whack the igneous and reset it.
Edit. Lol
Your brain is so cool.
I am totally going to do this!
In between running the Ninja course and tossing bombs🤓
So it shall be named
Coils to break the block. He made another thread and video showing it.
Aw thanks Gina, glad you like it
Hahah of course, gotta put those mini-game practice hours in
Oh… I took it to the next level and added the coil… I love it!
Also, I do not believe this is an exploit or that it should be banned… It gives no one an advantage and you gain so little that it wouldn’t be worth it for the xp earned, if not for the end result.
Best invention yet.
That’s really awesome, love the name Love seeing these pictures of people using the Surface Bumper
Where about is it, I’ll come check it out next time I’m on. And if you’ve done the Mk II version, with the coil, I can use it myself
It’s in my base on Trior.
It’s right next to the iLLumiNaughty Naughty boat contest… in the building on the left… door on the left… in the basement.
It works like a charm… though I find there has been a block in it when I return to my base… it’s only when I’m in front of it that it breaks… I’m assuming it works like helix machines which stop until you’re upon them.
@Ovis, I want to have a few surface bumpers in the tower I’m building that will go to separate floors. Is there anything I can put on the roof to prevent bumping and guarantee I’ll end up on the floor (provided the destination block is the 2nd highest under the roof)?
Sadly not I’ve searched long and hard to find such block/item but had no luck. Your best bet is to have outdoor platforms or make the bumper bump you straight onto a slide that’ll take you indoors
and only way we know how to not end up outside on the roof is to use lava and a wild plot under it (to stop it from flowing down) and create a lava ceiling. in case you want to use bumper and force the bumpee to remain ‘inside’ ( for dungeons and stuff)
pink= wild plots
Yup apart from that amazing diagram, that would be great for a volcano/mountain base
Bummer, but tyvm for the definitive answer. I may be able to figure something out if I don’t just end up using portals or making grapple platforms.
