Testing 232: Closed Storage and Decorative Blocks!

I will probably add non-self-sustainable fields later on as well I suppose, but right now I will want to have a steady flow of the stuff, hehehe

Deco Ice color depens on ice only right? Can I use any glacier to make it?

First off Aragorn is a great name. Love LotR

No argument here.

I hate this argument because it’s not backed by anything but “feelings”. I get your point and as much as possible logic and intuition do matter but this argument comes up for almost everything and it’s a tired one. I know you have the game’s best interest in mind when you say this, please don’t take this as a personal attack. Not my intention.

I’d say boring but not simple. I’d expect even the easiest to be a mixture that takes at least some work.

Yes, from everything I’ve read on here. I certainly hope so.

No offence taken, all feedback is important.

My point is if you call it something from the real world, it is associated with something from the real world. Basic concrete is not a high product. So that association will stand out with new players.

If the recipe is kept then rename it to something else so it’s not a disappointment to new players. Call it “oort-Crete”, or “Exo-crete”, give it that extra flare. A name does carry a lot of weight.

Concrete is cement, sand, gravel and water. Cement is more complex but in Boundless materials could be rock, clay, iron ore, ash, and mud. Use the same clay/stone/mud/ash mix as the brick, then add the iron ore. You still have a complex process, but no need for exo world items. Or, if growing the kindling shreds is so easy, I’ll buy them from the growers. I’m willing to pay 1C for a full stack of 900. Also, how much prestige is concrete giving? Because with kindling shreds it should be 1000 prestige per block.

Edit: I wasn’t trying to reply to Kelmat, I was trying to reply to the main post, must of hit the wrong reply arrow, Sorry Kelmat!

Even if you need ice, you can type-change glacier to ice and vice-versa

So what is it that people want from concrete?

  1. Easy to make item with basic ingredients?
  2. More prestigious decorative item?
  3. Everything all the time, all at once, for free? #Tacos, too!

Edit: Half-joking, here. Not in response to anything in particular. I’m going to have to take a break from the forums, lol.

Yup people need good options and if they want it cheaper then it will need to be lower prestige than something. Suggestions and good reasoning can get things changed.

Well since you asked…considering kindling is supposed to be a luminous fuel source and concrete is neither fuel nor luminous I would prefer less prestige and no kindling requirement for the recipe. The patterned concrete is fine

I would agree with that, or just don’t call it concrete… call it something else.

Simple concrete very low prestige and no kindle. Precious Concrete made with kindle and has higher prestige?

Kindling concrete, the concrete texture with blue twinkling cracks

Maybe we need another low-level concrete-like building block.
Give it a little more texture and call it “Plaster”
And then all will be fine :+1:

Welp guess i wont be touching those any time soon, why does this game hate new players?

Why do you all require forged gear to gather water anyway?
First thing i did when i crafted a bucket was try to place the water… imagine my surprise when this just didnt work coming from minecraft.

I mean, new players can always obtain gravel or sand naturally, and concrete is not intended for new players anyway. Water can now obtained by melting ice which is obtained by a totem. I think what your asking for is “why isn’t boundless just minecraft 2”

you will simply melt ice in the furnace from now on (after the current testing goes live, I mean)

it doesn’t, but a lot of new players seem to hate the game :rofl:
