Wow I love that animation!
I was thinking the same thing lol
Last year that started on December 18.
Still a month to go…
I would also rather like some new permanent planets with lovely colours!
The Developers continue their amazing work , Thank you !!
The next patch will move the frame and leading patterns of stylish/ornate glass into a seperate rendering pass for better rendering quality and to allow the frames/patterns to be hidden when placed against other blocks (the translucent glass part of the material will still have the feeling of the pattern of course, but its much less in your face than the black patterning).
The translucent materials will still render against opaque geometry, but the alpha-cutout (like machined grid metal pattern) will return to how it is in Live.
Hey I was wondering How hard would it be to make the fish Mosaic texture able to rotate?
@james and @lucadeltodecso How about easier coloring options for the new glass? Will they be sprayable anytime in the future and/or not so dependant on refined gleam?
Hey how about an update to hunting??? We need oort (hunting) to run our portals but that has yet to be updated. Guess it’s a good thing we’ve collected 2 years plus of oort sense no update has been mentioned regarding hunting. Besides the once roadmap mentioned hunter
Adding new mobs is probably lot harder than adding new decorative blocks.
Also if the engine still has to be improved that has to take a lot of time which I’m fine with, I rather have engine improvements to be able to play smoothly before getting new mobs.
I’m sure devs are trying their best at working on things that they consider a priority.
I get that. For me personally its frustrating to see update after update for building without any info about something new for hunters. It’s been over a year (ps4 release) and every update caters to building nothing at all for hunters.
Updated OP with details of Testing 234.2.
Main change is to rework how transparent and cutout blocks are presented when placed against solid, other transparent and cutout blocks.
The glass panes inventory/storage models are still in offset to the left, though.
BUT the octigrid are back to normal :
The stylish & ornate glass blocks are way more readable :
I’d say the environment map you see in reflections is still a bit too present on the panes, though.
When I logged on testing, it was night, and I legit thought there was a bug with the environement map that made the panes 100% opaque.
I guess it’s likely because the inside is way too lite, but that’s still a bit crazy because even when your nose is stuck on the glass pane, you can’t see much either.
It does kind of work like that in real life if you’ve ever lived in a place without any kind of street lighting outside your house, you cant see F-all through the window when the light is on inside at night; that is the basis of one-way windows afterall.
Of course, in real life when you get your face shoved into the window your head and everything starts to block out the light from the room letting you see through the window better… but we cant do that!
Too bad.
Aaaah if only Boundless had something like light-switches to… turn off the gleam. XD
we do, its called a door

Uuuuh, yeah, sure. ^^’
I meant, like an item and you have a tool to link it to some interactive item to turn it off/on remotely. ^^
Like, if we had some and/or/xor/nand/nor/xnor logic gates to make puzzles and stuff, y’know?
Can we then also get a sound to go with it, woop, woop, like locking a car doors remotely ![]()
< cough >
BTW, wanna bet which game I had in mind, which has the switch-thing and logic gates to make puzzles or doors locked with passcodes and stuff?
No Man’s Sky!
Oh., oh, is it that game that I keep thinking has something to do with Zelda?
Never played NMS. And as for Hytale, I actually don’t know how that will be handled. That’s actually a legit good question.
Nah, it was CV. You failed!
