Time gate sounds good. Even an exponetial time increase per reclaim would be acceptable imho, and would make it hard to exploit after a few times. Maybe with a reset/decrease after a longish time.
Will this charge change to how many plots you are manually expiring or will it be the same amount for 1 plot as it would be for 200 plots as long as its all on the same beacon?
Also is there any other way to store such items to the ‘cloud’ or this the only way to do so?
Can gleamclub members get 2 free expire options per month or something like that?
The beacon reclaim system would be off limits to GC members unless you can pick and choose which beacon to be excluded and allow it to expires naturally.
Not true, if you can force a reclaim then even GC members can reclaim a beacon. But it does seem odd that the players supporting the game through gleam club might have to incur a cost to reclaim versus other players not paying for gleam club can just wait out the beacon fuel. The concept seems to punish players supporting the game.
Hi, I am currently on the testing server and play a bit with reclaim, it looks very good and I WANT IT
A few comments so far:
1/ The 2 hours to wait for reclaim is OK for the normal mode. For the testing I would like to (a) have a FORCE RECLAIM - only to speed up my checks and (b) perhaps a switch to deactivate explicit reclaim requests for a specific beacon.
2/ As I currently see it, I have to stand in from of the beacon to get to the beacon reclaim function. Is there a chance for the owner to do a “remote reclaim” via the places / beacons list. I good imagine that a beacon gets (almost) inaccessible and I would like to gather it from my home base.
3/ The turning a beacon plots area to ashes is nice, but I would like to have a switch to just forget the old place immediately. Any chance to get that?
4/ I have a beacon set up on Havran (currently the home beacon) and a portal connected to Dalan, where I have set up another beacon (with the matching portal). When I reclaim the Havran beacon, it will collect everything INCLUDING the active portal. This will cut me off from going to Dalan for the only remaining portal - except taking a sanctum path, I know. It would be convenient if the portal could stay open long enough to allow to flee (!) to the other side…
Hmm, everything looks so good that I start to get more wishes for more features I will continue testing, this is my favorite for this week! Good work!!!
Initially, I think all reclaims should be free. But at the same time, I can see folks exploiting this for mining and farming purposes, or for moving massive resources around. So, the restrictions should only be on items in storage containers. Any non-natural blocks that is laid down should be free for reclaiming. Anything else is charged a fee once the amount surpass a certain threshold or frequency.
Won’t be like that on live
Yes. There is a “switch”. Also known as regen bomb
I am not sure that is exactly true.
I am wondering if the difference between test and live is going to be the way the color is selected, but would like to get some clarification from the developers. I think you create to many issues if you just have the build disappear. You could have players in the build when this happens become trapped if the area regened or drop into a pit if the build just disappeared.
No reason for players to be in a beacon being reclaimed tho(other than owner). So that’s on them if they get trapped or die.
Hopefully they just vanish. But if not I’ll just have to remember to bring regen bombs with me to get rid of the blocks that take the buildings shape
I would assume players would pop to the surface just like with current regen bomb
Otherwise they can go to sanctum to port home @Kal-El
So if someone decides to reclaim their road system, there is no reason for someone to be on the road? Or in a mall or any of the large builds? Sorry but that makes no sense to me.
Being as you have to be at the build to do it the people around you should know. So yes no reason unless it’s a giant snaking road.
Also since looting smoking beacon won’t be a thing anymore after this no point in sitting in a build waiting for it to go out
So what you are saying is the master control beacon is always visible in every build and I will always be able to see the owner at that beacon in every build? We will just have to agree to disagree because I have been in too many builds where that is not the case. And a road system in a town does not have to be a snaking road but can still be reclaimed.
I agree with this, but that assumes the only reason a player is in a build is to camp the beacon and that is not the only reason a player may be in another players build.
Never been to a build where I can’t see people near me when they are there. Don’t know a lot of places that are on one beacon either. I know they exist but there’s not a lot of them. People like to name their things or have different perms in different areas.
A lot of towns use multiple beacons for their roads. Not all but a lot. Also remember beacon compactness will be a thing to so some of these builds will be changing either to less or more beacons. Won’t really know till it goes to live
Tho I know myself will be throwing regen bombs after reclaim is done if need be regardless if people are there being as I will warn them before I hit reclaim
The ash does regen on the normal cycle so I am not sure it is necessary to use regen bombs.
Won’t want any remnants of my build be it placed by me or the system. Should go back to natural. So regen bomb will be required in my view of things.
The whole point of the ash thing is so the build specifically remains there so others can stumble upon lost ruins; it gives people a reason to explore.
Think of it as the first step to dungeons
I still will regen my area. If not possible I’ll take my builds apart the old fashioned way
