I for one really enjoy Boundless as-is. I think the Devs have done an amazing job and appreciate all of the thought and design effort that have gone into the game systems that make it the Boundless of today.
I still enjoy exploring Exo’s and tracking down unique places and items even if not for myself. I even enjoy gathering goo on Exo’s though I give almost all of it away since I have not been able to set up a farm for it yet. Gleambow is an amazing and enjoyable event that I look forward to greatly every time it gets close. Not to mention the other seasonal events which are also a blast to participate in.
Thank you to the Dev team for doing what you do, and for all the care and love you clearly put into the game design up till now and I am sure going forward as well.
Can’t wait to start playing again regularly once I get my connection issues sorted.
Possibly not (although for me as a child I did use all the colours, but that was less about finding the right shade as it was about making sure I didn’t use-up the colours I liked most). But we’re not all kids now. Some of us are now big kids.
Yeah. It does sometimes seem that way… on both sides of this debate (and most others, come to think of it).
I am now wondering what exactly this means. Can we just change the colours or is it like a re-roll of the palette so we could potentially get new colours each payment cycle?
“Just” change, cooldown was on testing like 10 minutes.
There was option to reset back to default values when planet was generated - so no “reroll” I think able to choose again is enough. I see it kind of risky re-choosing colors few months later on full open planet could make some players leave because of new colors
Screenshot of always visible color tab after 245.3 update. Planet is locked now so maybe new comes up soon for next testers.
This is probably my favorite addition to this test, really. Being able to get in put without having to stream the creation is a nice quality of life feature.
I apologize if this was answered, I either missed it, or misunderstood. So, If I want color “x” for my metamorphic rock, it has to be either what the initial RWG delivers or from the current world colors, I understand. However does it have to be from the current metamorphic rock colors, or is it any existing color? Because the color I’d like is an existing color, its just not currently a metamorphic rock color.
From the current or past colors from any public or sovereign world. So in your scenario you’d have to wait for it to be unlocked via random spawn on someone else’s world.
The different profiles (Lush, Coal, Burn, etc.) all seem to have palettes associated with them. The palettes have a bit of randomization to them where they alter but try to stay in the same range (ish…this is more true for some than it is for others). So there’s a chance during the dev’s creation of the world that a new color is unlocked. That color is then available to that player and anyone else who creates a sovereign world after them…as of this morning it is also available to anyone with a sovereign world but they’ll have to use their once-per-pay-period option to change the color.
TLDR eventually it’s from any non-exo/gleambow color it seems (no list of what these are as far as I know) but you can safely buy your world whenever and change the color of the meta rock once the color you want is unlocked.
I think it might’ve been you or I’ve just had too big of a case of the Mondays…colors aren’t exclusive between types of rocks and wood, in the long run, afaik?
Colors are exclusive between kinds of rock. You can’t pick an existing sedi color for your meta. And you can’t pick an existing grass color for your meta.
Each block type has its own “what colors exist” palette.
Otherwise I would make a world where everything is black or grey. I’d call it photographyland
Key was “in the long run” though, as things are steadily unlocked. Unless they’ve reserved 83 colors for meta, 83 for ig, and 84 for sed or something? If so, can you link? I may have missed something.
