Correct. But you still can’t give your world cool berry meta until someone else has done so via RNG.

Lol. I think you just sort of missed the point of the question.
You can’t pick a color for metamorphic rock, if it’s only been released as a sedimentary or igneous color so far.
As you did indicate though, it’s likely to become available at some other time.
I didn’t think colors were exclusive between blocks. They’re not exclusive between palettes. Maybe they’re exclusive between world control selections but that’s different from being exclusive between palettes, technically speaking.
Don’t forget the numbers tossed about in one of the threads where someone has brought up we’ve only seen about 33% of the colors in exos since their initial conception and release… Colors have taken far, far too long to become available, and colors should NOT be locked behind any sort of artificial scarcity wall.
If people want their ‘exclusive’ and ‘rare’ stuff, @james @Leahlemoncakes @vdragon and the likes needs to turn to unique and new Character customization options. Armor (Give us more than a loincloth for heaven’s sake!) can be used for this. Most (If not all) other MMOs use gear for this purpose.

Ok so black meta currently exists.
That doesn’t mean black sedi won’t exist one day.
But the existence of black meta doesn’t unlock black sedi.
It’s not exclusive, but black meta doesn’t unlock black sedi.

Right. They weren’t asking about exclusivity between blocks on the world control. Just about the overall colors of meta rocks available for selection, if I’m reading right.

For exclusives I would suggest some hunt drops
Maybe colored warp conduits or something.
And if they added meteor bosses, they could have trophies for completion or something.
I agree with Sephiroth that basic building blocks should be more unlocked. But a compromise is ok I guess.
People will just be really sad when all the best builders move to creative.

Tinted warp and conduit blocks would be sweeeeeeet 
Problem: Most builders arent ASKING for creative. We just want colors available. We don’t want infinite of everything at the click of a button.

Yeah but when you have to choose between limited colors and unlimited colors, you’re gonna go creative, right?
In any case creative will be a great place for contests
You are missing the point.
Whatever thing they made exclusive, people will cry for those to not be exclusive, thats how exclusive things work.
But I would trade color rarity over gear or decoration items.
