Testing 245: Sovereign Worlds!

Ahh. Gotcha. Well we could just go old school and use Notepad(program or actual one )

Though the JSON grab from price harvester does not seem to work on test (just tried), if it works on live once the planets go live then that would be an easy way to grab a snapshot of current colors for your planet.

Foreign language to me lol. No clue how to do that or what it is. Plus PC is not my main character and us PS4 players can’t do that.

Those of us that do know how to do it I am sure will be more than happy to assist, I know I will be happy to help out with it as my connection permits.

I have a google sheet that I rip JSON data into and the output is like this

I’m sorry, I think I see where the confusion is coming from. The idea is that the person requesting beacon review adds you as a friend, thereby knowing where the beacon is and can be coordinated with to locate the beacon for a quick warp. In my mind, it might work like this-

  1. Player has complaint about a beacon they want you to review.
  2. Player submits complaint at a central location such as a mailbox or administration building that has directions on how to add you as a friend at the time they file said complaint. (Maybe they even purchase a 100c complaint ticket item to cover your warp cost, idk)
  3. at a designated time, they wait by the beacon in question for review, and you friend warp to them. (When I hosted a popular MC server, I designated ā€œoffice hoursā€ where I would handle in-game disputes at a specific time, very useful for this idea)

I think your idea is a valid one and worth discussing, I’m just suggesting ways it could be achievable within the existing framework of the game so as to reduce additional dev time and release sovereign worlds sooner!

Edit: I also remember location tokens are a thing… they could just leave one of those for you to warp to.

Awesome. I really like the re-coloring feature. I understand this is intended to allow us to recolor after a long delay (30 days…etc).

I did check and I cannot remove a single beacon. I don’t recall you ever saying that would be an option. So this isn’t a bug report. But it would allow us to manage cities without removing all builds from a player on break. For instance, if a player owns a road and the guild hall. And the road needs plots placed above it, but the owner is on break for the semester. Removing that road beacon would let us replot it correctly but not destroy the guild hall. (reclaim mats would go to the player of course)

Anyway, looking forward to these worlds!
Thanks again!

You stirred up some hopes

It costs the same as any warp to a location, you can go planet to planet following the rules of blinksecs and warp costs. Same planet is 100c.

Downloaded a small update to test but didn’t see any new notes. Random steam stuff?

Sovereign world is locked now.

Just to be clear, I have no idea when patches will go live or whether or not they are feature complete when I post videos… generally I post them as soon as I can complete them, though I sometimes do drag my feet a bit if I feel there’s going to be major changes / additions.

One way to look at it… the longer it stays on testing, the more likely we are to get extra sprinkles :confetti_ball: … not to mention a more stable release :hearts:

Will Sovereign worlds be available to interrogate by the Shopping API?

For permanent worlds, we get the list of worlds via the list-gameservers endpoint, but during testing of the Sovereign worlds, I couldn’t see any visibility of them. Will they be on a different endpoint?

I’m with Jiivita. I’m excited but I’m fine waiting a few weeks to make sure it’s smooth and stable.

U guys remember that update that was full ā€˜o bugs a few months back? Yeah. We don’t want that

It really is better to wait and get all the kinks out of it first, I couldn’t agree more.
