Testing 246: Creative Worlds!

O boy, gonna make sure I get a creative world.

It says here “portals”; it’s plural meaning more than one portal.

I read it more as a collective use for players as opposed to multiple portals but like i stated above I could be wrong. Just voicing what I took away from the notes.

I agree it can be read either way. Once we have a few test creative planets we can start to get some answers.

Well I hope you’ll agree that some clarification would be nice

Likely debate topic^^

Probably has to be a portal limit to its corresponding survival planet to prevent trolling and spamming. May not need to be only 1 though.

You can have more than one portal but they can only go to the single survival world, the one it’s near…

The potential issue is that someone could take all the tokens from a single hub and open every one to their world.

People already take tokens from other hubs in an attempt to drive people to their hub. Plus even if the person did it on a creative they aren’t gaining any footfall or many of the other benefits. At most it would be a hub to all places on that 1 planet they are orbiting. Lastly if some abuse like this did happen, I’d expect the Devs to put in a patch or something to maybe only allow 1 free portal or something.

Yikes yeah, that is a possibility.

I’m way too positive thinking of people at times…

I guess they could get around that by tracking the account of the person who creates the token. And make it so creative worlds can only be opened using portal tokens from your account. /shrug. Just one thought.

A lot of hubs don’t allow multiple connections to the same location anyway - they can close portals from their end if it breaks their rules.

So, they’ll need to update their rules/set-ups to include a way to handle rental planets.

Question. Does this mean that the player can decide on any size of a portal for this, even the max size giant portals?

Also, if players can add more than one portal from their creative world to the survival world they’re orbitting, couldn’t this be exploited if players make a massive portal network on their creative world for the purpose of people travelling around the survival world?

EDIT:

Looks like Alwin thought of this too

Good question, but we don’t have the ability to connect all planets. It could still be an issue, to some degree.

I wasn’t saying between planets. I’m meaning someone making something like the TNTMINIHUB/compass hub fueled completely for free linking all the players on the planet they’re orbitting.

You can only have an out-going Creative-to-Survival planet connection :woman_shrugging:

Yes, but say I’m orbitting… say Sochaltin. Currently the minihub there linking different people across Sochaltin is costing me and the people linked to it oortstone. But if I had a creative world orbitting Sochaltin, I could link to Sin City, Sildwin, New Cydonia, everywhere that someone wants linked to my hub, now people can go from Sin City to Sildwin or New Cydonia or anywhere else on Sochaltin for free through my free fueled creative portals.

If the number of portals isn’t limited you can still reach out to every settlement on the orbited world.

Or just build a hub that links all 50 regions of the orbited world.

Etc…

Definitely some unknown factors here. Hopefully we’ll have more answers in the next day or two :+1:

I hope that portals would be allowed between creative planets and going back survival would always lead to entry point where player did enter to creative side.
