Unless we hide the lucents inside the walls. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Honestly casual players are getting the raw deal, but you cant really balance the game so that casual players and the ones that live on the game can play together.

My personal point In my sayings was that why not balance exp gain first…

Worst deal goes To People Who are casual +builder+doesnt care about fancy blocks = oh ye… Me.
Obviously Im gonna bash this cause it effect directly To me… I dont care rly until it comes To situation Where i run out of plots and Only option is To buy them cause i just build… But theres nothing i could build When Im out of plots.

Theres not even some kind of achievement system Or repeatable perk you could get and gain some sort decent of “boost” To exp.

If this is the case then that isn’t really a good way to balance this kind of game in my opinion. There will always be people who pick to Min/Max to get every drop they can out of a system, While there are some things that need to be balanced around Min/Maxing, Exp is not one of them.

People need plots so they can have space to build what they would like to try to build in this game. Having more plots in no way harms any sensitive systems such as the econ, or whatever is left it. and as I said many times before, due to the fact that Sov worlds give so much extra space for most people to build on, being able to get plots should be made easier, not harder.

What I personally think should happen, is other ways of getting Exp should be buffed so it is more in line with the current Meta of power leveling. There are many things you can do in this game that give very poor exp for the amount of time invested.

Crafting is the best way to get Exp,
Mining is also a good way to get Exp
Everything else, falls short by a long shot from my experince.

Also that ruddy daily/weekly quest system should be updated to give more Exp and/or more things to do each day/week for Exp. The daily only gives 3k exp, and the weekly only gives 15k, which i think pretty abysmal for anyone who is not brand new to the game. You can only get about 36k exp each week from that system and that is only 18% of one full level at this time. It would take someone over a month to gain one extra 50+ level from just the daily quest system alone.

Agreed that both experience overall and for achievements need some looking at, I remember in early access it was actually beneficial to aim for some of the achievements as it would get you a level or close to it.

I think it makes sense to overhaul the skill system first though, that way when it is finally balanced out the rest can follow. You cant balance experience with anything if you are planning on changing the ways skills and levels work.

Diminishing returns from over-leveling or giving “Rested exp” bonuses to players who don’t level as fast, or stay/logout within their home beacon/settlement for an extended amount of time. Several other MMOs I’ve played have that feature.
There’s Destiny 2’s take, too; Giving double exp for the first five ranks per week. That could be a second option, if it came to it.

Even then, I don’t like the sound of cubit rewards being halved for every level, because that sounds rather punishing, when levels are already being made harder to get.

I hope they reconsider the reward halving, because it just seems incredibly pushy towards buying them instead.
Heck, with the 1-50 being easier, it almost feels like a “well i’m in this deep, I don’t want to lose my work” at newer players to some degree, since 50+ is much more to get through.

While i dont like it.. Lets face it.. Devs of this game have been generous what comes To earning cubits.. You get them Pretty easily.. Now they are heading To more standardi model i Feel.
I like guild wars2 system Where you can exchange gold To gems. The rate is kinda terrible but At least the option is there.

Only if you play select areas of the game. Otherwise not really.

Well ye that its true. You get through mining few levels Pretty easily… Or through hunting but building is For gotten completely as ive said if you dont like sparkly stuff Then you are screwed.

It has been over a year since I last gone on a hunt but i recall Hunting to be pretty bad for Exp as well.

If you go on a public hunt with many other players you get very little exp from killing creatures as the exp seems to be unevenly shared. And the exp that you get for finishing a meteorite is quite low, I don’t remember what it was but I thought it was only around 3k to 5k

Then with the fact you will most likely die quite a bit on a hunt, more so then most other things you can do in the game, that death penalty that you will likely have reduces the exp gains even more.

Let’s also not forget that the death penalty is also going to be amped up from this new update aswell, unless you buy or craft that luxury brew.

Now that you actually mentioned it… I havent hunted For like a year… So my memory For it could be a bit off too…
I remember back In 2018 @Vansten making a post about increasing the exp For higher tier mobs… Exotic ones etc… Dunno rly did it ever happen.

I cant exactly recall my suggestion, but I believe it was more along the lines of having boss mobs spawn, which look and act like elite creatures, but are physically larger and have significantly more health, along with more exp and loot to compensate.

Moreso on topic, the nurf to exp honestly makes this update a downgrade for me, since I don’t personally care in the slightest about Local Universes and Shields/Melee Weapons feel pointless without more things to kill with them. Combined with the lack of roadmaps or updates (or literally ANY dev communication outside bug fixes) and it just leads to a whole situation of “why even bother”.

I kinda see this game nowadays more like really laidback casual building game… Grab a few beers and so on.

But ye i do agree with the communication part and why even bother.

I agree, which is why making plots harder to obtain is such a bad thing. Building is this games main thing, and making it harder to do so will only kill it faster.

Has there been any mention about them maybe upping the amount of cubits given via the shop?
That might make the xp balance (nerf) a little easier to take for some players.
For me, I always felt the cubits were a little light in the purchasable coffers…bought a couple in the early days but going the xp route was easier (cheaper!).

That would mean people who can’t buy them would be at a bigger disadvantage than normal, which isn’t good either.
