Sorry I’m a little confused haha can you clarify what you mean? You said “You can design systems to cater both” and I got a bit lost afterwards
To be fair they must be extremely busy. We can offer feedback but we can’t always expect responses about general intent with XP. James has engaged somewhat in the past in discussions about how long secondary skill sets should take, for example, and they have adjusted accordingly. They can’t be all over every debate (especially with multiple threads touching on the same issues) or we’d never get any new content.
Imo - Getting access to everything on a single account is already massively problematic in my eyes as it honostly limits the amount of trading that will happen in game - I could obviously be wrong on this part, but granted that we got an economy and is meant to be used, I find it odd that we got access to even create alt characters
I am trying to specialise into decorative items in general, and it seems like everyone is speccing into this - It certainly doesn’t help that every single recipe can be unlocked from just putting 3 points into the decorative skill tree, atleast my entire decorative block and items are selling REALLY slow - I at times have to wait weeks before someone decides to buy anything, and that is with mixing it up with more colors and even letting people sell me their colored blocks of both stone and wood to get the decorative items that they actually want.
There is a claim that Attribures have been nerfed. This is incorrect. All attributes have not changed. But there is a bug on the GUI that is incorrectly rounding numbers down. (Floating point numbers often can not represent a number perfectly, 2.0, becomes 1.999999, which is then being presented as 1.0 after rounding.) So it looks like some of the attributes have changed. But they’re constant and used correctly in all calculations.
It’s a bug. And confusing people.
But I can assure everyone that attributes have not been nerfed.
This may be one of the points they were trying to touch on with this update. While everyone has the ability to do most things if they wanna go solo, its easier for a dedicated gatherer/lumberjack/forger to spec and spend their time doing what they love and for other people to buy that with the coin they make doing what they love and are spec’d into!
Yeah thats actually what I would want for this game, or was hoping for atleast, not that wax for decorative blocks is going to do a massive difference at all considering the amount of wax you get from 18 wax earth yams on a mass craft.
I mean you could e.g. make 60% of today’s content available at a generous pace - enough to craft pretty blocks, run fast, explore all planets (it is a huge selling point but then gated), jump high, level your second skill set in less than 50 x 200k XP, and so on.
You could “give away” all that and still have more content for the dedicated. In fact, the games that do best manage both because then they have a bigger market. You need something for everyone. I think part of what is niggling some of us is how much is behind grind gates and how little is easily acquired to, for example, build something pretty and varied.
For example, someone suggested using ash and mud for concrete. New block. Something high value. Something different. It could be a more demanding recipe. Leave Decorative as something more attainable.
These are just current issue examples but there is loads of it in the game. Small amounts available at first, much more locked behind a lot of gathering, travelling, fighting off mobs whilst gathering, dying, working off XP debt, getting more XP to get the right protection to be able to breathe on the planet with the right plant, get killed, get more level for defensive skills, get the plant, make the ingredient… I could go on.
Something as simple as spreading ingredients over more tiers of planets at the same time as atmospheres adds time demands. There are many small additions of time across so many systems. Better to add in high value goals for hardcore players for trophies, bragging rights, more coin, whatever, than streeeeeetch out everything that felt doable in the past.
Yeah I like how they did that, I’m sure there’s always room for improvement but it added another step but it’s still an easy material to get so it’s not overly easy to get dec blocks but still satisfying once everything is all good and done
I think it’s pointless to add the wax only in order to have more time to run from one machine to another. That’s why I say stop copying what works. We are waiting for new content and in the end we got a table and a chair … I have no words.
Hurray, thanks. I guess it was just too small a sample size then.
I understand, I guess that’s just where the divide between players come from; people who enjoy the rewarding grinding experience and some just wanna go in and be able to do what they want right away to each their own!
I like the game, I love it, but I do not want to turn the game into a routine like on mobile devices. So where is the new content, instead of constantly fixing something. Let it take more time to prepare the content, and let this patch be huge, we’ll wait, but stop all redrawing.
It was not a fly. Bomb mining the way it was before the patch was absurd. Just a way for the players that were the highest and most powerful in the game to remain the highest and most powerful in the game. Us lowly ones never stood a chance. We couldn’t even BEGIN to catch up without a handout.
Now you have to get down and grind with us. Sorry for your loss.
You get more bricks for the combo now, actually reducing the grind. You just have to get different kinds of resources. This either makes you (kind of, because the surface resources have been increased) GRIND which the gimme-it-now folks hate, or you have to support the in-game economy by purchasing it with coin. Oh no…
at first I was dismayed to find I now need ash and mud to make the six million bricks I need but after some extra harvesting I was delighted to find I had created twice as many bricks as I was expecting.
overall I’m fine with the added complexity to crafting.
my fun has not been nerfed.
I think that I am not bothered by the creation of bricks, since ash and mud are extracted simply. I’m all worried about bombs. Now this element of the game was practically useless.
The game JUST released, and has major connection and rubberbandin’ issues still, as well as loads of bugs.
New content is a ways away, there’s a lot to fix first. They shouldn’t even begin’to add new content until the game stops flingin’ me into lava randomly.
I agree, there are problems with the portal after the death of the character. But the content in the form of a chair and a table is like a bone in the face of the players.
There are multiple devs, each works on different things. If chairs and tables were finished, why not release them? Or would you rather they release it all at once?
That is, prepare a larger patch to please the players, rather than adding trivia and constant fixes. I understand that everyone does something in the game. But programmers are engaged in everything, the introduction of content into the game, the correction of bugs. So draw conclusions.
