It’s everywhere surely… even down to a couple of friends banding together and having a quick game. I still play it with my daughter sometimes and we go back to worlds we’ve created in the past. I think it comes down to the ability to put the game down for a while and come back to it and everything is still there.
From what I remember, they had most of the offline world stuff worked out, with the exception of providing people with some starting worlds - they were massive in terms of download size as I remember. Although with higher and higher internet speeds, that may be a non-issue for some.
I think it should be possible to have multiple versions of the game available with Steam, so maybe they just have tagged versions, and people can upgrade their own universes as and when they want. I’m not sure if Sony has the capability to allow different client versions though - maybe someone who has a console and something like MC can say either way.
Yes, unfortunately, there will come a time when we will not be able to go into our favorite game and enjoy it, only memories will remain. It will happen inevitably. I would like to make the most of what I have now.
This is actually why when I was able to talk to the Devs and have multiple discussions with James on this that it was CRITICAL that non-dev run worlds had a way to connect back to the known Universe in some way even if it was the same like we handle creative worlds. That cross access would be helpful in the long run. They were going that way for sure before them being in control stopped.
Boundless is completely dead to me at this point. It’s really depressing, but just how things are. I will always miss it and cherish the time I spent here with the community. It’s one of my most-played games of all time. But I simply can’t bring myself to dedicate more time to a game that could shut off the next day. Two teams of developers, zero communication with their community (on anything that matters, at least).
All I’m looking for now is for somebody to eventually create a game VERY similar to Boundless, but actually allow it to grow and thrive. A dev team that actually cares about it and lets it reach its potential. And actually finish it. For now, I wait and lurk, holding onto that miniscule sliver of a thread of hope that something is actually done with Boundless eventually.
Nice to see that when you some bad about the game it’s not banned. Like my take was .
Yeap the game is dead. Everyone knows it. Devs do nothing about it. It’s been a long ride but this is the end. It fun to come here once in a while and notice that nothing has changed
It’s inevitable that some people will get offended and comment. It’s a part of life to have a difference of opinion on various subjects.
It’s at that point that you just roll your eyes and move on…
Some of you will know that I’m French and that my English isn’t good, but yes, Boundless is on PC, so what I was trying to say was that a good way of advertising at low cost would be to offer Boundless for 1 month as Playstation Plus Game of the Month. Sorry if I didn’t make myself clear.
