Things to do before the new update is pushed live

Correct me if I’m wrong but in the new update we won’t be able to bulk or mass craft anything until we have that particular upgrade correct? If that is true, and the update is weeks away, wouldn’t we want to craft as much as we can before the update goes live? For instance, I just mass crafted 50 diamonds, should I save them simply because I don’t need to use them right now or should I mass craft some tools while I still can? Also, what would be the best tool to mass craft? I feel like hammers are the best thing to craft because they are used the most in needed the most for mining gems and coal.

True, I needed a couple of weeks of leveling before I got to bulk crafting.
Mass crafting still to be learnt, but I haven’t decided if I need it right now or maybe bulk crafting is cool for early stages as I don’t need huge amounts of material just yet and maybe unlocking weapons, compactor recipes and tech recipes should go first.

As for what tool is best to have in bigger numbers: hammer would be my choice indeed.

I personally mass craft hammers, not that it matters right now, as all tools do the same thing, but once the update goes live, and that issue is fixed, I assume hammers will still be the optimal choice to mass craft, as if you’re into strip mining (as it looks like you are) most of your time will be spent hitting rocks.

Aside from that, it’s always nice to have some shovels for gravel and dirt too.

Thanks guys, I will do just that. Time to mass craft a ton of hammers.

Also the power/wear of those hammers change too when the update goes live. It might be best to use stone or wood till you get your skills up.

I felt amazing with just 3 mass queued diamond hammer stacks…that’s insane!!!

I’m hoping that our accumulated skill points from live get unlocked and we don’t have to worry about leveling up from zero, but it doesn’t hurt to prepare for the worst.

This means I need to go massively farm oorstones or its good bye portals.

Thanks for bringing this up @Cookviper! Even though we don’t know exactly what will happen, it’s good to be prepared.

Or maybe we will just get a big wipe so we can all test tut and progression from point zero.

I remember one of the devs saying that they may reset our leveling progress so that we can test out the tutorials and quests. And with that, I hope that resetting of xp does not mean it also resets all the plots we have earned and used, otherwise its good buy builds as well.

As sad as I would be to leave all the wonderful creations behind, I’d be equally happy to begin again.

Out with the old and in with the new! As much as I enjoy the results of building, I prefer the process of building more.

As much as it eats away at my soul each time I unbeacon something, I soon find renewed enthusiasm for the next project.

The ‘wipe’ will be both sad and exciting!

I’m going to unbeacon my very first project tonight. It’s both sad and exciting.

If I remember correctly, it was mentioned that we’ll keep the things we’ve done already and have the progression again, kinda like the test. Where you keep the old and have new plots and progression.

Now I understand how come you Boundless vets have so many plots to spare. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not really, there hasn’t been a change in progression giving us extra plots. Most people having too many plots has just benefited by a glitch, where they get double the plots they gained by mining after they reached level 50.

I’m hoping the glitch gods bless me again at 50 Builder.

I guess I have not been praying to the glitch gods enough to bless me with that glitch.
