😢 This makes me sad

So more biitulas.

Biitula is and could only be a mere taste of what it could be like in the future… hence why getting more players would be… bittersweet in a way, sure you get WAY more people running arround but more people means more space needed to lodge them and thus more and more building riddling the place

Yes, but we are more likely to get new planets as community grows

this is why I’m not worried in the slightest if more ā€œBiitula Casesā€ emerge, it’s probably pretty easy for the devs to expand the world with new planets since these are being generated and not made from scratch like more traditional maps are, Biitula is not as ā€œunnaturalā€ as some people here feel like, (at least imo) this is only going to get more and more common as the game progresses and matures. We’re human dangit, our main attributes are creation and expansion for crying out loud haha so of course people would do the same in a video game that allow them to do so.

it’s just… Biitula was such a huge shock for all of us because we were not expecting something like that ever happening… at least THIS early

To be clear, I am not mad at any players. Nor do I want any gameplay mechanics to change regarding this. Was just sad and thought i’d post about it. #sadMeatball

It is VERY possible some of these players didn’t know how rare these areas are. And it was framed more as a PSA and suggestion (as many have pointed out you can plot above, under, or on the edge) about preserving these areas.

In the end, all players are free to use plots as they see fit! But some education may help guide how they use those plots.

It should be part of the upcoming newcomer university teachings.

So we want to teach new players not to plot where ever they want, but to only plot in areas where nothing rare ever occurs? And how exactly is a new players supposed to know where these areas are? They may not have an atlas, or the resource to put into an atlas to see what spawns where. And to be honest, how many of us non-new players make sure that the areas we build on do not spawn a resource that someone may value? I know I never bring an atlas with me and a slew of possible resources that might spawn on a planet when looking for a place to build.

While I can understand the sentiment of the OP in being disappointed that an area they had been able to rely on to gather resources is now plotted and built on, I am still not sure that there is any good that can come out of telling new players where they can and cannot plot.

I assume you are only saying plot up next to them…plotting around them sounds like an encirclement which would be against the TOS!

My feeling on this is that if it is unplotted it is fair game… if you or I want to preserve the area for farming surface resources then we should be proactive and had plotted it before this new person moved in… Also, I am not sure how comfortable I would be messaging them with the idea they should move… seems inappropriate to me at least.

Yep it was kind of a joke but putting a message where they can see it in game can help to contact a player.

lol k k… as for the sign…that is a good idea though!

In game signs can work very well, ask @Jiivita

I feel your pain @Crete, two of possibly the best farms in the known worlds for sweet beans have been eaten up by developing communities on Lamblis. I have had to resort to less optimal locations whenever I farm them which is sad.

Those players have a rite to their land, and I don’t begrudge them, just wish I could get the 300 beans in 15mins like I used to is all.

I usually go to 'merika. Early morning US time I can usually pull down a bit over a ss an hour. Plus I can usually get a few meteorites during that time. But the spots have come and gone over the past year. So I have a bunch of different routes now.

Yea, asking someone to move just because it’s someone favorite farming spot isn’t really fair to the person that is building there, unless they have a beacon and plots but nothing in the plots, than it’s ok to ask to move, just make sure to give them good beacon fuel for there troubles.

Well, now I am happier!

There used to be a huge building on the E side of that area I took a screenie of, and it is now gone!

To the unnamed hero, whether you unplotted purposefully, or just ran out of fuel:

Thank you! =D

I agree if the area is virtually empty I suppose there’s no harm in asking. However how would you respond if that person tells you no?

If they say no, than do nothing and forgot about that spot, or try to negotiate with them, and maybe come up with an agreement.

Yes indeed I think that is the best answer. We must all understand that if someone plops up an area that is their right to do so and we must respect their rights to do with their plots as they wish so long as it does not violate the terms of service

Yup! gotta be ready for a solid ā€œNoā€, and then just move on, as you did what you could by asking.
