I probably would have stopped playing. Having the freedom and ‘safe place’ from drama does help. Yes you can approach the devs with any issues but it’s just such a hassle and usually nothing gets done unless it’s serious. (No disrespect to anyone).
Your experience will be completely different to others. The one appeal that the game has for me is that you can play how you want and what makes you happy. Some don’t like Sovereigns and that’s perfectly fine and others like them.
If Sovereigns got removed I’d straight up stop playing without hesitation. I do have a base on a home planet but these planets would get crowded. I’m an introvert, whilst I don’t mind socialising it can get overwhelming at times.
Well ill still agree to disagree. And I dont care if u say im overuled and my opinion doesnt matter and u guys are The law, thats trivial to me. What matter is having an open diskussion not a one way Street. And im willing to be convinced. Im just not there. And u dont have The numbers on PlayStation, noone has. So thats not convincing. I. Assume there is more players on pc as noone wants to accualy grappel on ps4 its a pain.
No need for personal attack and using “Whine” And yourself. I am looking for an adoult conversation.
What Hazel is saying is more important to me as its humble, diplomatic and put in a more pusvasive way. With good argument.
I figure it came down to drama and plot issues in The end when it get crowded. But this is an issue that will Come up regardless if The game gets bigger. My thoughts i to rather make a system that can keep up a healthy community where greifing is fround apon. Like Ff14 or simular games. Zero tollerance to grief. Because not everyone can escape to their own planet. And will go through exa tly The same issues u went through mmaby a year ago.
And im sorry for The drama u went through its not healthy.
I do see your point, I miss the days of running around the known worlds and seeing tons of different builds around and people.
However sovereigns did help save and bring me back to the game.
My internet for awhile was so bad I could only stay on my sovereign world, any attempt to connect to the known world locked the game up on me for week(s) so being able to stockpile certain resources that did spawn was awesome!
Even people with sovereigns do try to stay established in the known worlds as well.
Right now I feel the struggling to run into new players is more of a content issue then it is due to sovereigns, however I do understand how it would help if everyone was on the main worlds.
This really just falls on a matter of opinion, we could debate this day in and out with beliefs that support both sides but in the end we all want to see the game succeed!
Yeah you are right, its a difficult discusdion as it is so many things that needs to balance. I just hope that the old worlds dont get lost in The back burner and dead, i wish there was something to make the old planets more attractive to be on, not all The time but some time so Newcommers can see that there are alot of players there, at least for The moment many mmo has The same problem, to make old content relevant.
Honestly, sovereign world are the best thing they ever added makes farming for block materials easier it really helps the community a lot. I remember when I first played it would take a good couple of hours to just farm some orbs now we have people that have massive areas that you can farm until you have enough it’s seriously amazing . Also the home planets are so cluttered with so many plots it’s making gathering and hunting meteors literally hard. On sovereigns no plots in inside of where you’re gathering to your hearts, desire and do meteor hunting. The list could go on and on about the best benefits of having a sovereign. But some people just can’t get them it’s understandable but as the community people help out to make it easy for people to go farm the things they need. Some people either hate them or l love its perfectly fine but in all honesty they really make the game fun and really enjoyable because not every sovereign planet is the same scenery they’re always different.
I was one of the founding members of the former IllumiNaughty. We were griefed beyond belief…one of our fellow founders quit for years over it. The original group is back on, and laying low on a sov. It’s open to all, but we have control over any beacons that go up that are causing problems. That is the only way several of us were willing to even come back!!! So to each their own, but I for one am quite thankful for sovs
I always try my best to see both sides and try to be as respectful as I can even when I disagree. There’s pros and cons to everything. We all have different playstyles. It’s why I love boundless it doesn’t bottleneck you into one playstyle.
I obviously want to see the community grow and understand people enjoy playing with others. I do too of course.
My reason for why Sovereigns are completely different to someone elses. Although I’ve had bad experiences there’s way more positives on here.
There are plenty of locations on home planets that are pretty busy with players. We aren’t all hiding out
I don’t own a sovereign but I am not opposed to owning one in the future. But I have been around long enough to remember how much griefing there used to be left and right around the universe. I myself was targeted, very briefly and nothing compared to what some of the others experienced. I consider the private worlds almost as a necessity to the game. Sure, the world feels a bit emptier but it felt empty before sovereigns too.
Without talking about the additional colors and resources these worlds give us, the worlds provide a possibility so play “solo” while yet also take part in the mmo aspect. I have played Minecraft for so long, but always missed the community in my singleplayer worlds. With sovereigns, you get the best of both worlds.
Some people like these, some not, but they are here to stay.
I absolutely LOVE having a Sov world. I have other people in my family that play and we are all on our own planet. It is opened to the public and we have a shop, farm portals and I change the colors every month to help with the Cole collectors. You dont have to worry about someone plotting near you or boxing you in. We also host hunts on our planet. The portal hubs are alive again and the hunts are more frequent. I think they are a good aspect to the game. The only thing I dont like is you should have the option to change biomes. Other than that, I love it and support those who have them.
A reason a lot of players have sov world’s is because no one will plot on top of you when you are building a base or trying to grow your guild .This prevents a lot of trolling in game. I live on a sov world now with a lot of players on it, more that where on my old home world witch was right next to a big mall in the game, on sov world s if some one trolls you or don’t respect your space when ask you can just block that person from trolling you there . I loved living on a home world because you can run into any one and see new players more, but if you don’t have a big guild and area plotted out for them all you will probably have a problem most likely in my experience with some players not understanding to ask if its ok to build close to you since not all players want to be around others .
I don’t like that this is the only solution that we have in game because of the pay wall but without sov planets this game would have lost a lot more players because of these problems an probably have ben dead.
when the sovereign worlds were first introduced I was worried about the old worlds, who were already depopulating as new home worlds were released and other games took precedence, would end up as ghost towns. This wasn’t the case, however. If anything, the sov worlds gave people more reasons to stay in the game. If I was building something and wanted a specific coloured flower, I could go into sov worlds and see if they had it. It got me out and interacting with more people.
We’ve just recently gotten our first sov world, it’s for getting the specific colours I want for my builds on my home world, but I also go to other home worlds and other sovs to seek out colours, so I wouldn’t be on my home world all the time even if if the sov worlds didn’t exist. I’m guessing you aren’t suggesting people should be only on the one world for the entirety of their game play, just in case a new player happened along?
SOV world also made guilds and portal networks bigger .TNT hade to add so many portals now you can go there without you seeing one other person almost any time of day.
MOST HUNT/GATHERING planets have a connection to home worlds because most players know that’s where all the new players are and if you want them to come to your planet you will need a portal network/hub on a home world for all there needs.
I also have a resource farm on a home world still and it gets a lot or traffic because there low level farms, but high level farms use to be impossible to make your own since a lot of good areas for farms where plotted bye some one else already, believe me I know took me weeks to find good spots on home planets that where not near a base of some on else or plotted over so I cant farm that item even if I wanted to, when I tried to start making high level farms I could not find any spots for those items again that was not near another players farm/ home so I just gave up but with sov worlds you don’t even need to buy the world you can ask some one if its alright to plot farms ,you should only do this if you see the planet has a lot of time on it and is not going away soon or you know the person well .
Im with you on this one to a certain point. But the biggest reason i dont like the Sov worlds is that it takes out the aspect of having to find better planets, or spots to farm stuff, there is not a “rare” item in the game… smthng like gleam for instance, ppl now have sovs with a lot of dif colors that were before only able to be found on Exos or in gleambow. It takes out a lot from the regular MMORPG Sandbox games, and thats where it keeps me away as a vet player. First time i came online after the update for Sovs i insta found black gleam farm and i got 5k in 5 mins, where half a yr before that i got around 300-350 black gleam in gleambow runing insane times and giving my max and having fun with it. while now i couldnt care less to go for gleambow for example as i can find most colors on sovs, or i could just roll my owns and find whatever i want. Idk it just takes out the fun part of actually having to work for things you want…
On the opposite side, i like the idea of Sovs, i agree with all other ppl saying its cool, bcs ye it is honestly, imagine u have a whole planet for urself, but at least limit it than…
I don’t see white wood or rock available on any kind of Sov Farm. There are still colors that are gleambow only. Maybe take a look around before saying something silly like this…
I see that Sov has helped more then accual doing harm, thank u guys to help me realize it its good that it helped out with alot of friction that made People quit
The game Is better of having SOVs then People getting greifed and quitting. And im sorry for u that was a victim of this. I hope that Newcommers doesnt experience what u did if The game gets an iinflux of players. And im super happy u are back and have youre own privacy to enjoy The game
I have not been a victim of such greif myself in Boundless and I didnt know how common it was for players. I know what harm it does for The motivation to play The game. My bad not taking this into deeper consideration.
And im pretty Shure they Will do something about The future for Newcommers. As early mentioned by someone.
Thank u guys n girls, ure amazing And thank u for taking time to reply my rambles! Sorry if i offended anyone. Wasnt my plan to do so.
