Topaz - something not right

HAve just been mining for Topaz on Cardass, for over 90 mins. got through a stack of titanium hammers and not found a single topaz. I’m mining between 140 and 170 - trying different altitudes straight through the hottest blobs on the atlas.
Am I doing something wrong?

Posts within that thread make mention of 110+, so perhaps you’re just off on the height a bit.

ok thanks. I saw other posts which suggest going higher. will try lower now.

Mine away from soil, 5-10 blocks. Topaz spawn on blocks of rock 120+ish altitude. Also found sapphire in Cardas.

I found a decent amount of topaz last night at that same altitude, maybe you just hit a previously hit spot. I can say they are definitely spawning on cardass

Also I have seen them from 90 to 175

If you find 5 or 6 blocks deep of a 3×3 area with no resources I would mine in a different direction, if you find that 2 or 3 times i would move up or down in altitude by 15 or 20 blocks and try again.

If you are on later I can show you my technique, it’s kinda weird but works for me. It is fairly precarious too

I was finding them between 110 and 140, but very few.

I ran a 3x3 for a few passes between alts 105 and 120, and came away with over 100.

Try that sort of height.

Using a vanilla titanium will net you much less but you should still get a handful.

Waisted hours yesterday looking. Only got 40. I don’t have an aoe hammer though. And my bombs destroyed everything. Insert fart noise here.

same here - just using a normal titanium hammer. on my last one now and at least I’ve just found some sapphire.
certainly not worth the investment in tools though.

A titanium hammer with fast brew 2 can change that mining experience IMO

My mining experience changed dramatically when I started using those brews w/ the titanium hammer.

Looking forward to trying this out in a couple of hours when home. I set some fast3 brews crafting before work, and two mass crafts of titanium hammers, so should be all set!

Lol, try to find an action speed forged hammer with speed brew and find sonic speed hammering.

I used a forged fast 3x3 axe with max skills for that including action speed skill(Dex?) plus a top fast brew and crashed the game on my ps4. Graphics couldn’t keep up with the amount I was chopping down.

125 seems to be the best for me.
