Using an alt character

Hi there
Please could someone advise how I can add skill points to the alt I’ve purchased?
I’m level 20. I’ve just purchased the extra toon and it doesn’t seem to have any skill points available.
Very odd.

Thanks

All new alts start from scratch just like your original character.

Ah, that’s rubbish.
Could use those 600 qubits for plots :frowning:

If you plan on crafting it’s useful to have a 2nd alt specifically for crafting

You can level up to 10 really quickly and get extra plots that way and spec it just for crafting and then respect your level 20 character for the other things you want to do.

It’s very usful to have multiple characters my friend, I play with 3 atm each specialising is different things (hunter, builder, miner for example) and I know a lot of other people do also

Same here, three at the moment, 1 for crafting, 1 for gathering on low level planets (good for wood, sand, silty soil etc) and the main is for hunting/mining and exploring.

I have 4 :joy:. Miner, crafter, surface gatherer, and dedicated forger. Although soon my crafter may be able to take over forging once he hits 50

Get it to your main characters base and give it all the permissions that way it can use the resources and machines there rather than having to make everything all over again.

Yeah eventually I might have to create a forger, not the biggest fan of it but it will probably be a necessary evil at some point, still haven’t even got basic power coils yet so no rush

Yea i wouldnt suggest bothering with it until you have coils for at least the forge and extractor. I tried it out and the things you can forge without power aren’t worth the cost/effort

yah that alt will also earn cubits and can purchase plots.
a day-two later you’ll be up in the green cubits wise for your investment.

thanks all !

I’m confused as to why you’d think a new character would have skill points.

OK, I made a mistake. I bought a new skill set for my existing character, not a new character (sorry for the confusion).

This is why I thought I’d be able to re-purpose the skill points I already have. And I can’t.
Thanks

Yeah, you must level again to get skill points for extra skill builds. The in game levels are 1-100. Levels 1-50 will give you 100 total skill points and levels 51-100 will give you 200 more. You can only have three skill builds in total and each build can only use 100 points.

I got 6 characters now:
Miner, Crafter, Plant Gatherer/Explorer, Lumberjack/Shoveller, Hunter, Forge Smith with a total of around 150 lvl
and i can say: ur decision to get a new character early on was great!
u can lvl this character and reach lvl 10 in minutes which gives u enough cubits to buy ur next character. U can save much time doing tasks very efficiently without waiting to get at that lvl. Because lvl takes much longer for higher lvl characters and saves much skill points on them for a more focused skill build.
U can activate important epics early on without worrying that u need skill points for other things like crafting recipes and such

how do you get the plots from your alt to use on your base? I have a alt and she has some cubits and I’d love to use them on my base. Decided on a design and will need a lot of plots, it will be very tall and go underground so I will have to put plots underground also. Since the base is 35 x 35, that will require a lot of plots.
Not building a huge tower, but a ziggurat, looks like a step pyramid…

Add their beacon, then add both toons permissions to each beacon, enabling them to build etc on the plots.
