Well its been a ride

not really - it went OT before the little rant
it was a leaving thread
then people started talking about the future of the game
then they started offering each other help with keeping portals up

so yeah, no one knows what to talk about here anymore I guess?

@Buugi
damn, where’s your beard, man? :open_mouth:
that’s some lawn mowing you did there all over your head

Sadly, I don’t think you will receive a response. And I feel the same way you do about BG3.

Meanwhile, the “Everything Is Awesome” faction of the forum assures me that everything is awesome

As long as there is a single planet left, to them everything is awesome.

I see things like “I don’t play any other game” and “I spend every waking hour” on boundless and think, how can they have a balanced view if the game means so much.

It would be interesting to see if that same enthusiasm remained after a 2 week break.

I was massively supportive and hopeful for the game for about 18mths, but sadly now it’s utterly obvious it’s dead. Not dying, not going downhill, but dead. There’s still die hards and fans playing sure, but just look at the calibre of people that have left. I might not be too liked by some around the game but I left behind over 40m in cash, probably 100m+ of ores, gems, bars etc as I saw no real reason trying to build a future or town, as everyone was leaving.

I would struggle to name 5 very active big players now, where I used to see 10+ a day in or around my shop. Pretty sad really, but James and co have understandably moved on to where the money is…….they are a business after all. Just wish they’d make the intentions for the game clear

This is how all the I’m leaving threads turn out. We get the positive views and the negative views and really it never goes anywhere. I see both points-of-view and while I remain one of the more positive people in the game and especially on the forums that doesn’t mean I don’t recognize the issues, the leaving of players and the complaints here on the forums.

I will continue to be positive because my experience in the game remains positive. It is a little saddening to not run into people now and then, it also saddens me to see a shop turn to ash every so often in DK Mall. I wanted to help out the DK Mall in every way possible as I saw things changing and shops going away and it may be a lost cause, but who knows, I will attempt to keep the mall in the best shape I can and I have plans for some changes.

It’s the usual debate about many games like this where people come to a realization that it isn’t fun for them anymore. There are many reasons that could be as we have seen (Griefers, toxicity, running out of things to do, creativity blocks, or lack of updates) among many other reasons.

If you feel the game is dead I totally get that and respect it. I for one feel that the game is as it has always been for me, a game that provides me enjoyment and relaxation and a getaway from real life that can suck at times. It’s far from boring for me and I am far from calling it dead… I do however see things as they are and the population has been on the downturn… sadly as I stated MANY times a single update won’t solve this, giving all the items founders were promised won’t solve it either…

I have hopes that some company or some entity can see the potential that Boundless has and takes that potential and makes something out of it. It may or may not happen, but being negative does nothing to make things better so I remain positive. That doesn’t make me blind…

I think the main difference in outlook is perspective. A lot of people who are 1yr or so in, are used to slow comms, quiet(ish) planets and fairly meh dev comms. Some of the early backers and long term players see an awful decline.

I hope the new blood is enough to make James and investors think the game is worth if financially, but a lot of damage has been done.

be interesting to see how may oortian or the rank below group still play….or even expect any possibility of their rewards

Of course it is perspective, I haven’t been playing a year yet. That doesn’t mean I am “used to” slow comms, quiet planets and the lack of dev comms. While I haven’t had the benefit of busy planets or great communication from the devs, I would very much like it.

I rather like the positive and negative discussions especially when there is actually some valuable takeaways, but there should no reason to invalidate the positive crowd or the negative crowd and say either of them is right or wrong or blind or just plain fanboys or game haters.

Maybe you should make a poll  .

For what it’s worth, I was a Master tier backer, no longer play and in no way expect the full backer tier rewards to be implemented (or even really any more development on the game should 249 eventually come out).

I’d like to be wrong on all counts, but I feel like realistically I don’t expect it to happen.

Same, on all counts. Yet at the same time if James came out tomorrow with a post explaining everything and apologizing and indicating they needed more funds to hire more folks to pick development back up due to the Larian thing I’d probably be first in line to donate and I’d do so at Master Tier or above.

I still really believe in the potential of the game. I just unfortunately do not believe in something quite so miraculous happening.

I’m still coming back from getting pretty ill, but I love strolling around Raxxa Sanctuary b/c that’s one of my fave styles of architecture in the game. I’ve even got researching (not heavy work, just I have wicked adhd) a way to pull Raxxa closer to the purple line of Tigg’s in my todo list b/c of this. Kiwi Valley keeps me in good cheer every time I see them still there. <3

All of this!! :+1: Though I’m feeling pretty sad about the way things appear right now, if they asked, I’d happily and immediately donate.

I think that’s where you and I differ then. I believe in the what the game could have been, but my faith in Turbulenz is pretty much destroyed. Now if Larian picked it up and started running with it though, then I probably jump in headfirst… lol.

Guess I am always more optimistic and positive than near about anyone on the forums lately. I play constantly, the game is on my mind constantly as I have many projects and they apparently just keep growing.

I created a large concrete shop that keeps me very busy with some bulk orders from a few people, I just expanded my base more and have more to do, I am currently helping run DK Mall and have plans to create a new portal hub in the mall apparently word is getting out that I am running DK Mall as I have MANY messages each day in game and on the forums about portals and shops being needed. I also am in the process of changing my color storage around which will take a few months as I am still in the drawing stage.

I am also making a new base on Trior near some other players @Shadykatt34 and @DarkQueen. I am very excited for that. I have also bought 3 new sovereigns in my pitiful attempts to catch up to @bucfanpaka (just kidding) I bought them for mining mostly and of course to fulfill my color addiction needs.

The game is fun and it is exciting for me to think about playing and the future projects I have. I even have an extra character I am leveling without giving myself anything from my other characters as it’s pretty challenging at times to do it all on your own. I also plan to not buy anything with coins on this character and its been pretty fun.

I am a little confused on all the negative points really. The game is functional, it’s fun and must have been fun for everyone on the forums since they have logged so many hours and invested quite a bit into the game.

I’ll still stick with boredom. A lot of you are just bored. Thus why you need an update to solve it for you. It’s not a bad thing and completely understandable hell I find myself on somedays a little bored with a project that’s why I jump to a new one or find someone with a project to help out with or I just go explore or so many other things that I can do.

Sadly I think even if @james posted today saying they have new funding and future development is coming, as I mentioned in other posts, people would return for the short term and still become bored before the next update was released. It’s just the nature of gaming for some people including myself. Anyone that has gamed with me for years knows I am a “game hopper” and that is sadly because finding a game with a beautiful community, a game that allows tons of creativity and a game that just checks all those boxes I hope a game to be is just hard, but ya know Boundless comes pretty damn close.

You know what? There’s a small chance I’d be dumb enough to do the same…

But that’s unlikely to happen. Update 249 was announced 8 FREAKING MONTHS ago and there hasn’t been any official news about it in the past 5 GOD DAMN MONTHS.

I can’t believe there are still people here who are ok to put up with this. It’s not normal. It’s in no-way acceptable. How much loinger do they need to start saying “ok, it’s too much, now”? One year?

I guess When they realize no one is renting sovereigns

What do you mean by “put up with this”? The only reasonable thing to do when you don’t like this is to leave. Maybe post in the why you don’t play thread explaining why you are leaving, but then leave.

I can’t believe there are still people who think it’s okay to put up with toxic doom spam.

Play the game or leave. Don’t torture everyone else with your bullshit. (not you, Goblin, you’re quite reasonable)

You take that back this instant! I’m anything but reasonable!
