What about wearable Backpacks?

Hi guys I’m used in some games to have more slots in the inventory than the original slots they give you at the begining.

I know there are going to be craftable shelfs and some other chests to place intems in there and keep them at home. but what do you say abou Backpacks, part of the equipment that guarantees you to have more slots so you can put inside more blocks and other objects.

Is there gonna be something like that without counting with the chests and other crafted objects?

This is an old drawing of mine - it is in the grappling hook section.
This could be some sort of backpack or parachute.

And I reallyreallyreally want a PARACHUUUUUUTE!!!

so cute, Love your design. a parachute backpack would be awsome too, just to activate in case of falling.

Would love to see the gliders in this game, possibly to replace a backpack so it’s one or the other. Having a glider would mean sacrificing valuable storage space on your character. It would also really compliment the grappling hook well.

There are a multitude of different things you could do with a glider through cosmetics to attainability, although I would love to see parachutes in the game as well. Possibly a cheaper alternative to the glider to reduce fall damage.

Gliders would be extremely cool!
The idea for a parachute came from another idea I had: place a portal not upright, but vertically / flat on the ground and hop through into the next realm and sail to the bottom of it with you glider or parachute or even backpack.

Note - already old idea of mine somewhere found in the forum. Experimental, but sometimes (not all too oftem) I’m a fan of my ideas.

a glider like the case of archeage, but what about using a pet as a storage container as well, let me explain with a picture. I draw this 2 days ago.

You must noticed that this cute thing of hibrid of cat, flying squirrel, and fennec fox (ears) may be used as planning arround and fall without having damage. also imagine this creature with equipment, i mean some cloths like an armor or an extension for him, like 2 little auxiliar backpacks near his rear legs (on the sides). there you could put some things.

The size of this creature? well like a mid sized dog or a mid sized cat (serval, caracal, lynx… maybe?)

I really like your concept - at the moment I try to transcript your idea into a comic version. So far I have worked out the body (slightly changed). But I’m stuck at the head/face. Your approach is rather artistic - I use to make more simplified versions. If it is ok with you I’ll continue and try build a playable avatar race out of your idea.

@Bokke no problem, you can use my pet (:p) as a reference, also I would like to see how you manage to build it. But are you talking about a playable race or about having a pet as a container with little backpacks on the sides as i said before? I got confused for a moment xD

: ) I’m sorry - with building it, I meant - drawing. I’m no 3d-modelling expert. And drawing wise, I’m not too routined either.
I’m talking about a playable race because of the reason that your idea has gliding-wings like a Sugarglider.

So, if we had a playable race with wings, we’d also have the possibility to glide/fly through the air. Other races might have to craft devices for flying and gliding.

when reading this I imagine my character jumping into the vacuum with all and spreading all the extremities like the image with a freaking sound weeeeeee xD don’t judge me xD. And the the dream ends with you smashed into the water or the terrain with your or my character’s body exploating into cubes or or crushing into them making a huge hole until arrive into the mantle… XD

 Well, yeah - i think it would be typical for Boundless. Regarding how often I died, slamming into a pillar while swinging with my grappling hook :))

oh that happend to me few hours ago, a tree appeared on my way while swinging arround in a very high altitude smashing into the trunk losing a little portion of my HP and them falling all the way down and died smashed into the gound. You know what? if i felt a few blocks into the right my character will be saved because of the water… I was seriously???

@Bokke I like a lot your creature design, as i said i can’t draw in boundless style, i do mine by default. But I can change the style always in 3d modeling having a ref sheet near. What do you say if you do a ref sheet of that creature of your and I model it in 3D? then when finished I will post it here so all can see the fantastic team we make.

If you accept me please in one paper put your creature in 3 diferent views. Frontal, side (right or left view), and rear. And also 2 more views for the head, Front and side.

for example this

This second one is not the best example of head shots but are some expresions. anyway the top one, that cute lioness i made is a ref sheet to model it in 3d. its a bit confusing at first being a sketch but when modeling it I just detail it much more
