What Biome is this? *insert picture of unknown biome*

The biome is a huge expanse of Ice with these holes in, there are a couple biomes in the list to chose from (when you buy a planet) but they are grass based and sand based.

So, what biome is this?

Looks like hell to me

Looks like a combination of “Level 7 - Pitfall Field” and “Level 4 - Ice Crack”.

I think you’re right, which is weird that we get these combined biomes in the public worlds, also a level 7 biome x level 4 biome on a t3 planet (if that is what i it is)

My exact thought when I saw the picture Lol .

Kada I (T2) is covered in these pitfall fields:

Maybe the original planets had different rules for biomes?

I’ve got a similar Biome on my T3 planet. But they’re at an angle and go all the way to mantle.

I think it might be cave formations that make this then, how do we select the caves?

i think the biome is called whack a mole

Gloviathosa has a ton of this too, but they’re just short pits. Exactly the same as Kada but found in both rocky and icy areas.

Yeh they’re actually short pits in a grid formation going downwards. So it’ll be a 8* metre put down, then 8 metres of rock then it will repeat, the pits at the top are just exposed

ice crack + some unfortunate caves
cave generation seems to be random, maybe more intense in some biomes. you get a few cave types (patterns) that appear all over the planet

Disregarding the holes, when I customized my world, I couldn’t find a biome with these gleam formations that was grassy / gravely.
I found gleam formations that were half-gleam/half-rock, and gleam formations just like these, but in an icy biome.

on my planet (s) this prefab appears in sheltered lakes biome. it spawns on rock and looks like it needs some space too, so you need to have caves there as well. I found them in supported hills biome growing on the pillars, but it might be because of a neighbouring biome

The place where these gleam spikes spawn most heavily in my area seems like it might have a sheltered lakes feature, as well, and the shallow pits rest on top of a massive cave system that stretches into several other biomes. The spikes also tend to randomly show up deep underground in some of the small, fully-enclosed caverns.

it would be helpful to see the underground as well during selection… some biomes don’t have surface suitable for these prefabs, so they can only be in caves

I am glad I didn’t get this biome. I wish my sapphire count was a little higher but I absolutely love how my planet looks so I am not rerolling even one time.

That biome with the holes to the mantle is both amazing and terrifying!
