The thing the free weekend show was that the systems now working very well.
No lag, no waitingtime at hubs, running very smooth with lots of players on each worlds.
Good job done by devs.
Compare it with a movie ticket for 10£, 2 hour later you are more bored then when you come there…
Yep. Last trip to the cinema for me and my girlfriend cost us around €70. Taxi there and back, popcorn, choco snacks and drinks. We saw a movie and nothing else to show for it. Terrible value for money!
Here we have a €40 game which gives endless hours of enjoyment and is always there to play. Very, Very Good Value for Money!!
This thread doesn’t appear to be very productive. The devs are not malicious and want the game to succeed. Instead of complaining, bring solutions that can improve the new player experience.
Overall balance is bad. Not just new player experience. What’s more new player experience is heaps better than it was in EA. For high level players we only got grind for every little thing. Boundless become game that should work nicely if it had 10k players, but with this player base numbers there’s no other means of getting things but grinding your life away.
Not to mention that some of these AAA games pop out yearly with the same dull content and a handful of glitches yet people have no issue buying their “new” version ever year
Assassin’s Creed series comes to mind right there. I used to love that series but then it became way too much too soon between the titles. Then came the cash cow DLC’s that they piled on top of the main games. By the time you’ve played the entire game, such as AC Odyssey for example, you’ve probably spent somewhere in the region of €150 - €200. For One Game! And still the play time you get from that is limited. It’s insane! lol.
ow its a bad game how did i not notice this thx for letting me know
im such a fool
How do i stop having fun?
Didnt want to name them but here we go xD: AC, Far Cry, and COD. Those i can think of right now. Yeah and the ridiculous DLCs.
if we all had the same timescale the numbers would be alot higher it only show the playerers that are on for that hour and not throughout the hole day and ofc the number where alot higher in the first few months because of releace hype where prople would make all nighters I dont think boundless has done something wrong at all and I still think the game is grat even after 3300 hours
It’s not a bad game but there does seem to be something preventing people picking it up. Having played other MMOs I still believe there’s too much resource grind to cover lack of content, just as there was at 1.0 launch.
Not criticising - much of recent updates has been necessary polish & I can see the value - but there’s still only a few mobs, no quest system, etc. Not much really that an MMO crowd would expect.
Still like it, still think it’s good value, but it is still empty feeling, in population, build purpose options & MMO gameplay.
I had always assumed the ps4 had more players in boundless than the pc. What I have seen comparing ninja to steam is the ps4 players tend to be no more than half the number of pc players. Obviously the free weekend could not be included in that as that was for pc players so the numbers were skewd. What was interesting is the Europeans got the biggest bump during the weekend. Normally North America is the biggest group. It was interesting watching the stats and will be interesting to watch the numbers to see how much of the free weekend bump stays with the game.
Example right now steam has 160 players and ninja 233. So with Europe awake, There are roughly 73 ps4 players compared to 160 steam players.
I think some people may have something misunderstood about me…
I’m not a new player…
I have played Boundless more than 670 hours(and Afk more than 3 month to now).
And I never stopped complaining about the new player experience and poor game content, since EA stage.
If the number of active players is not reduced to only 300.
They may still not pay enough attention to it.
Nothing to see here. Just a I am right and the world is doomed.
Discounts and free trials are a marketing too, not a panic.
Do agree content needs a bit of polish. Price, well beats paying £45 for Anthem
PS4 players can see other PS4 players PSN ID at all times, so we have a better visual aid of the composition of pc and ps4 groups and I would say that PS4 makes up a big percentage of the player base at present. If they do a free weekend on PS4 it would only serve to boost this further.
Although complaints about the bad changes in the game have always been there, developers seem to have been stubborn and still made some strange changes.
Here is a evaluation by a player with 1,600 hours played Boundless on Steam.

His idea is very close to me.
The concept of the Boundless is quite good, but its not did good enought.
The endgame needs more things to do like minigames and dungeons, like GTA or other MMOs.
That’s a pretty old review, updated 4 months ago.
I get your concerns, but cherry picking old reviews that don’t necessarily reflect how the game is now isn’t the best way to get the changes you want to see.
And rather than just attacking and saying what you don’t like, why don’t you list your concerns and what you would like to see instead.
It may be that the game creators have a different vision for their game than what you would like to see, but it seems to me that they are pretty good at taking people concerns and suggestions, and if they are logical and productive for the long term they will try to incorporate a best they can.
Other idea that works very well in Elite Dangerous is the creation of a new npcs race that can invade the planets (cities) little by little and that the community avoid it.
Mostly this!
