What is the point of storage blocks?

Hey guys,

Now I know what storage blocks do obviously, but wouldn’t it be easier just to make a bunch of crafting tables and store your stuff in them. They have a lot more slots than a storage block. Am I missing something here?

Game is in early stages - balancing out crafting costs and usefulness of items is in process I guess. Still, I use a lot of storage blocks - I dont do multiple machines. Just one of each, but each machine is accompanied by a few storage blocks.

We had a discussions about this the other day actually, how weak storage blocks are considering what they take to make. If people are just using crafting tables instead it means the storage blocks aren’t really balanced correctly.

Chests/Storage Should Be Available Really Early

Storage should be easier earlier in the game. I have a workbench, an extractor, and a compactor, but I still don’t have anything to hold all my crud. I’m an organizer, so right now I have a bunch of crafting tables as my “storage”. I find myself dropping a lot of items I could later use just because inventory is an issue.
