You should really try anime out^^
Itās all I can do to set aside time to watch Doctor Who. Somehow Iām going to have to set aside enough time to binge-watch The Flash, keep up with OO, wait for Valiance Online alpha testing to resume, and all that sort of thing. Iām also managing transportation projects
worldwide, which means odd hours since I have to cover things from Regina to Hyderabad. The company notices when Iām streaming stuff on their network.
Ooooh. Ok thatās a bad situation^^ I would suggest replacing Doctor Who with animes but I know a lot of people like it^^ So go on with that tight schedule you have^^
My dad watches anime, he started watching old cartoons like justice league and the old batman first, and then slowly as he finished the cartoons he decided to try out anime and he has really been enjoying it since, but it really isnt a hobby for those with little time
But lets try to focus on one specific genre at a time, i would like to start off with favorite slice of life romance animes, not animes with romance but animes with focus on the romance. my top 4 in mixed order would be
Tonari no kaibutsu-kun
Kaicho wa Maid-sama!
Special A
And one i found fairly recently: Ao Haru Ride
Definitely agree with the first two, never seen the other two^^
Ao haru ride is sooooooooooo goooooood, i found it and was like āāeh let me watch thisāā then while watching i was like āāTHIS IS AMAZING!āā
With thousands and thousands of anime out there itās really too bad for you that you havenāt seen any of the really good stuff
and my implication is that the only way to know whatās good is to have both a breadth and a death of knowledge about the medium
and you donāt, with your āI donāt have time to watch any of the classicsā attitude
Tell me who has an attitude mate, it was just a statement that i in general dont watch the old animes, im not saying they are all bad, i just prefer to watch something a bit newer, if i fall over something interesting i will have a look at it, no matter the age, cause eventually good animes are scattered over time.
im not saying you are wrong for your subjective view, im just saying i dont appreciate you acting like a Snob thinking you are somehow a better anime watcher, cause that is simply an idiotic view.
if you like your old animes, enjoy them with all your heart. but if you think you are too good to watch newer and popular animes, then i deeply pity you, because you miss some good stuff, i also miss some by not watching all the old ones but i gain other interesting animes from watching over all time rather than JUST old ones.

Most of the time this is how I get to watch an anime:
-> Someone tells me about it and the story sounds interesting.
-> I look it up and the artstyle pleases me (And this is the point why some older animes donāt get watched by me)
-> I watch it.
And I agree I hate this elitist attitude too.
Who has an attitude?
you
You have an attitude
a deliberately provocative one
Lets make a deal, we will assume that everything you talk about that is newer than 2000 is an invalid anime opinion and everything that is older than 2000 is an invalid opinion by me, lets keep to our field of expertise, because i fully agree, people do have different fields of expertise, i would say im quite knowledgeable about romance animes, fantasy animes, gamer animes and in general just newer semi or wholly mainstream animes. what i dont know alot about for example would be mecha animes or Sports animes, because with few exceptions (in this case Muv Luv for mecha and Haikyuu for sports) i dont watch them.
I would love to argue anime with you mate, any day because i know that there are great ones out there i havent watched yet, but i cant argue with you if the first thing you say is āāyou havent watched these 3 animes, therefore you know nothing about animeāā so please, if you actually care, try to convince people that those animes you like are worth watching, and if they are then you might get thanked.
i welcome anime suggestions and also questions about what i personally would suggest people to watch, any day, because like gaming it is impossible for one person to consume everything alone
Take a step back and look at what your saying. I objectively have no opinion of anime one way or another, and still I can see why everybody would be provoked by your attitude. I donāt know why you think itās necessary to talk down on others, but that is not the way to hold a civil discussion, try to work on that.
Try to make for open discussion. Itās an oppinion, there is no absolute right or wrong answer.
I can honestly say,I donāt think Zouls was trying to provoke you.If he was itād be something more condescending and arrogant.
Are we done yet?
Unfortunately, no I doubt they will ever be done discussing animeā¦ some fandoms simply can not be suppressed.
grabs popcorn
I do think they are done fighting for now thoughā¦ you gonna eat all that popcorn yourself?
I wanna slam sth. into the pot too, but the last Anime Iāve seen was Steamboy. And itās been a while. This film took 10 years to be made.
I think saying you only like new animes is kinda like saying you only like the new Star wars films, which is kinda a sacrilege
ThatĀ“s probably what @drthmik wanted to say.
