What should my first alt build be?

I’ve searched other posts but I’m looking for a few specifics if possible. I’ve only been playing about a week!

1. What should my first character build be? I’m thinking mining, so what should I put points into/not put points into? I’m approaching level 20.
2. What should my alt build be (crafting?) and how high do I need to level them?

I’d suggest a combat alt and going on group hunts for the oort and creature drops. You can make some money or build a stockpile of ingredients.
