What turns you off playing Boundless?

I’d be ok if all the items, machines, coils and other valuables (exact definition tbd  ) were stored safely and disappear from the world the moment a beacon goes wild :woman_shrugging:

This would be a bad idea because it would no longer allow you to transfer a build to someone else or an alt. And even a small unplotting error (happens a lot to me as 3D space isn’t my strength…) would just instantly destroy your build.

Most likely beacons expiring, beacons being deleted and unplotting are separate actions and can be distinguished in code.

It’s the best way to implement it like that, but it would only affect storages so the build is save in the wild. You just have to transfer items manually to avoid the hassle of picking them up from your outer world storage.

I agree, I also hate using public mine they box you in. And the lag on the planet is horrible sometimes I wack the diamond and it regenerates 8 or so times before I finally get it. With a max damage ake diamond hammer. The lag sucks.

I rarely play it because I can not speak English and the Boundless Community does not have a chance to become part of it. And for another thing, I hardly play it because it’s totally unknown out there and no new players are coming, not even my friends want to play it because it’s just too unknown. But the main reason why I’m barely not playing Boundless at all is that I was not going to be with the community because it marginalizes me because I can not speak English.

It should only trigger when the fuel timer is reached, or you could use the “sanctum storage” to move items to another planet easily.

I can understand it is not easy if English is difficult for you but I do believe most of us have no problems with people with different mother tongue.

Also boundless does have French, German and Spanish communities. They also translate as much of the game they can.

Hi everyone, just a friendly reminder that this thread is intended as a place to safely and constructively leave negative feedback about the game, and is not intended as the place to discuss that feedback or solutions to it.

We have a great and helpful community here and I understand the desire to help someone who is having frustration with the game. Instead, I encourage you to do a few other things besides reply here; create a new topic, or maybe introduce yourself via DM and help work through a solution that way.

Lastly, bug reports or complaints about broken mechanics are best served in the support category so that a bug report can be made and the problem remedied.

Thanks everyone!

Not having a sort button, i want that and also a search option by type and color in side our storage chests.

I still shop at targeted shops that I know have good inventory and nice owners, even at slightly higher prices. Lots of shops still do this and succeed.

I had to do that when i came back few weeks ago and it felt awesome since now i knew what to do, and how to do it, i also learned few new things this time and i could probably get from fresh, to the state i am rn in a week or so… its not so grindy in those terms

The rain and fog. I would honestly like a reply from one of your dev’s explaining to me how it “enhances” gameplay by not being able to see what I’m doing. It rains all the time, and when its not raining there is fog. Some planets are nice, but many just are just impossible to see on. Why? There is no benefit to having rain or snow, nothing grows faster, or any reason other than to make me want to quit playing the game.

Exactly, I think that it participates a lot in the survival aspect of soft. Without the elements, the planet will have no more life or charm … :slightly_frowning_face::neutral_face::weary:

I dream of having a new slip! Otherwise I have nothing to say, this game is a marvel.

That is what this game is. This is how the plot system works. Everyone knows this coming in. One of the most exciting things to do for a lot of us is salvage dying beacon systems. We have so much technology and this thing called a :spiral_calendar: to remind us when the beacon will expire. The max beacon fuel last 4 months. That is logging in for 10 seconds to fuel your beacon and shutting the game. This being said the system is great for releasing land for those who do play and self selection ( like you did forgetting or whatever the reason may be) of getting rid of those do don’t really play. Min wage is roughly 10 to 15 a hour depending if you live in America. So almost one hour of working can buy you a few months of gleam club. I use gleam club because I have too many beacons to maintain. I also take up a lot of land. If I cannot keep up I deserve to have my land naturally regened.

My biggest gripes are the RNG of Forging, and these giant empty “Malls” that are nothing but the empty un-decorated corridors and then blank spaces for the shops to go, or the few shops that are there are empty or still have prices from when the owner left 4 months ago, and they just hopped on, refueled the beacon and left again. Don’t really know what a solution would be as they are basically following the rules, but the spirit is definitely broken. I’d really like to see time remaining on beacons to be public. Yes, it may encourage scavenging, but maybe the “threat” of having their place scavenged will cause people to be more active, or at least aware. The people who complain because THEY didn’t give themselves an alert to re-fuel their beacons and want the game to do something for them. I won’t repeat the arguments, they’ve been done to death. The whole “Become Viceroy of the planet” quest. The tiny payouts for some of the quests. I just fought through 3 meteors on a T6, what do you mean the bonus is 100C?! (Its probably more but I doubt its over 1500). They probably spent more than that on the weapons and food/brews to actually do the quest. Yes, you got all the loot from the mobs and the meteor, but you would have gotten that anyway with out doing the quest.

I stopped playing several months ago, my wife recently.

To start, I played the game first and my wife joined after I got well established. She never saw the grind, only having basically everything available. She got the game without any of the pain. She loved it. loved.

I want to start with what we liked, either individually or together.
We both liked large, focused hunts with lots of other players.
We both liked building large structures.
She liked building more outdoor/aesthetic features while I liked building more interior/functional features.
She liked exploring and gathering while I liked the commerce and economy.
We both saw a great deal of potential.

Where Boundless Misses is in Execution:
Combat is clunky and unintuitive.
Max-skilled and geared characters are very fragile. You have to sacrifice significantly to have defensive capability. You don’t feel “strong” and a number of oortians can be wiped out in seconds because of an AoE attack or charge. This makes hunting feel like a chore, not epic or even “fun”.
Building is frustrating.
You take damage when you fall and there is no way to fly. It doesn’t make the game more fun to make building a chore.
Gathering is frustrating.
The planets and landscapes are pretty, but running around looking for a single mushroom in a forest is pretty lame especially when it takes a bunch of mushrooms to make a stack of goops that might only give you a few AOE tools. There is a disconnect between effort and value.
Forging is a step below lootboxes
You don’t feel accomplishment for making a good forge. I mean, you do the first time. Not the 50th, and certainly not the 500th. Its not fun and its ultimately a chore.
AOE Tools are required
This is back to gathering, but ultimately if you aren’t using a forged tool, the game feels punishingly slow. On the other hand, AOE tools make the game trivially easy in resource acquisition. The game is geared for the latter, so unless you are using AOE, fun isn’t on the menu.
Gleam Club doesn’t offer much
I paid for 90 days of gleam club, and my wife paid for 6 months. Basically you are paying to make sure your builds don’t get deleted. Its not extortion, but it doesn’t feel good.
Loot boxes are a bad look.
Look, I was as vocal as anyone. The rewards aren’t lootboxes. But by now, they should have had the graphics patched out. Just a simple text reward with some confetti. Anything is better than a loot box. Especially a literal box.
No return empathy
The community is absolutely willing to help players return with material wealth. But the moment you bring up “storing” beacons, there isn’t empathy. This should be easy - players that leave should know their stuff will be waiting for them upon return.
Graphics Change
This to me was my waterloo. I had a build that was all black marble and it essentially became vantablack. The patch helped, but not enough. I tried to make it work, but the graphics changes made everything look like they got hit with glaze and made darker. I just didn’t have the patience anymore to “hang in there”.

I post this all in the hopes that someone reads it and does something about it. For those that still enjoy the game, don’t let this diminish your enjoyment. Keep having fun!

I notice that after 15 days no Dev bothered to reply to my post. I am honestly asking why some planets have SO much rain/fog that its next to impossible to see more than 10 squares in front of yourself. What makes you think that makes the game more fun? You put it into the game, I would really like to know the reasoning behind it.
