I can’t remember honestly, but I think saw you some before you quit playing. You would have met my first character, Creamyblue.

It’s quiet, but I have been enjoying myself again… just building for fun these days.

Miss you and boundless old friend
I don’t think there’s any chance of the devs doing anything anytime soon sadly. A crew from the game are making a new game from scratch a la boundless.

No change in the general guidance that was given earlier in 2021. I wouldn’t expect any change in that guidance from the Devs and their free time unless someone has intel on when BG3 might actually be done or moved into a phase where the Devs might not be so focused. I don’t know when BG3 is slated for release.

Many of us have gone back to the mindset of what they game was like in EA and just playing from that perspective with the assumption it will be a much smaller player base that are around regularly.

Wish you all the Best too orrian.

As have been said. The game is Pretty much “on hold”.

Personally i havent played more than “ok Maybe Ill check whats up” moments.

Mainly For the reason that game is the same as it was around years ago.

Hah, I thought so too early on. To be fair though, once I saw what they’re working on I realized they want to make something entirely different at the core of the game. Specifically the RPG element. Some might say Boundless screwed up with its lack of story while the reality is that it isn’t meant to have one.

The fact that Boundless is a true sandbox is a particular selling point to me and any contrived storyline would negatively affect my opinion. There are a thousand stories that shape the oortiverse. Ask anyone who’s been around for a while what their favorite or least favorite thing that happened in game was, and many will have a story- that’s lore right there. That’s legit history. In all it’s sandboxy glory, Boundless is more of a “role playing game” than anything in the RPG genre, so long as you can use your imagination to fill in the blanks.

So I think Endless is fine. It’s almost like a mod in the sense that it’s grooving to the same tune just with some different dance moves, not to undersell the work they’re putting into it.

Writing this has me thinking… I pray, in the name of code almighty, that Boundless gets through this uncertainty and starts turning a monthly profit or my faith in gaming will be damaged indefinitely.

I’d have to disagree with this one. I think his name was Ben…? There was one dev in Early Access days who seemed to have a keen interest in developing and discussing game lore, although I doubt that this was his only role since it didn’t seem like it was time-consuming enough to be a full-time job.

The alphabet is the most visible relic we have left of that era, but there were also discussions about the history and culture of the Oort people; those ideas USED TO look like they would be the guiding principle behind things like different block designs, tools, clothing, etc. Not that they were going to go into such detail that they ever hinted at a precise chronology or list of place names, etc. but there was definitely a push towards a cohesive theme for the universe - one grounded in a loosely crafted history. The Titans as potential antagonists seemed like they might be a big in-game focus of this effort.

Fast-forward to post-launch, and instead we got 0-Titans-Ever and a bunch of ridiculous immersion-breaking cosmetics that had nothing in common with the Early Access style for tools or clothes.:face_with_raised_eyebrow: Some of the kinda tribal-looking blocks felt like a step back in their original direction, but I think that was about it.

The fact that they were moving away from a generic universe was a big selling point for me as an early backer… and I’ve never really forgiven them for deviating from that path.

If you look at the concurrent players (I’m counting Steam twice to guesstimate PS users), you’ve got roughly 1 person PER PLANET, and maybe 2 at peak. Uhhhhhhhh No.

Two things for me that make Boundless more enjoyable for me over other voxel based sandbox games.

All that I’ve heard is that BG3 is slated for release in the 4th quarter 2022, which is October-December.

A while back, around June-July of this year, with no updates from the Devs following the December 2020 update, some people took to the Larian Studios forums to try to get them to talk to Wonderstruck and get them to update.
We did get an update, with a message not to contact Larian again.
