This is do agree with. And if the game ever gets the growth they expect then alot of the missing colors would generate on new public planets anyway. As far as the complaints about players creating a planet that has a unique color, so what is the issue with this? If they do they decide to sell it and you do not want to buy it then don’t. No one is going to force you to buy anything you do not want to buy. And what happens if in the randomness someone does get a new color or black gleam. Are players going to insist that the planet be removed before it “destroys the economy”?
I would not agree with this. I would disagree that a lush planet with violet and blue rocks or blue leaves or warm fuchsia and warm cherry red wood are earthlike. I understand your point in trying to restrict planets to similar palettes, but I think all you get then is more of the same boring planets with the same boring color palettes and the same repetitive building colors we have now.
edit: If Boundless is supposed to Boundless then lets use rental planets as a way to make the universe more diverse and more interesting.
why not just let us choose from:
all colours of permanent worlds
the biome / land forms
and the planet around it should orbit / be nearest to
when new worlds arrive the color is added and you can change it afterwards for free just like moving the planetary location to the new one if its better for you
in this way there is a large choice but only a small economic impact
especially exos and gleam bow keep their value
I’ve always wanted to build a giant Egyptian style settlement. Though never did because no sand stone style bricks. I’d want some kind of Jade and other blocks types. Terracotta blocks also would be nice. Some many different things.
I have always thought about an entire planet covered in a desert, with a few rivers running across its desolate wastes and huge Egyptian and Babylonian cities stretching to the horizons.
And this is the issue, if we can select the biomes and the colors then we can build these things.
And that is the thing. . graphics wise, Boundless could do these things and do them well. We have clouds and atmosphere and suns/stars and with chisels we get a huge expansion in block shapes. Through the exo’s and the regular planets we have seen all sorts of biomes that could be adapted to make all sorts of cool planets. There are a multitude of colors that can be generated within the existing system without needing additional development work.
We just need the ability to make use of these things so the building part of Boundless can reach its potential.
this is the freedom I would want. Full customization so I could create truly alien planets not plagued by standard geometric shapes that makes it obvious of math equation generation.
Oh, one more thing. I want to pick the atmosphere color. Nothing would be worse than renting a random planet and getting a color that destroys the blue and purple spectrums.
It has been introduced just before full release - the whole 8-tier system (what I mean it was announced and presented to all EA people that the new full release universe will follow that order).
However the release of the game saw only 6 tiers from ready for players to spawn, then the 7th arrived in form of exo planets.
Yup there since the knowledge tab was updated… as soon as I saw it I mass crafted every type atmosphere protection pie… and waited… and waited… still waiting… good thing pies don’t go bad !
