@RatofTime I agree, I am also hoping we finally get the full finished game to come out as well.
@Stretchious I don’t think anyone is undermining the potential of what good this kind of update will bring. You are right there is a bunch of stuff to do in the game, but there is just as much missing if not more compared to what all of us backed for all those years ago when the game was first announced.
And look I do get and understand if they are trying to branch out the revenue flow, but some transparency on that would be nice. Then I would be more okay with that, but still be wanting the finished game to take priority.
Eh, i cant stand vanilla minecraft, but mojang/microsoft will never add any of the technology mods to the base game. I will never have electricity in minecraft without mods.
Im pretty sure i will never have automation here with out mods.
They also showed 3d art creation in the original Ort Online video of creatures we have never seen. No clue if they were scrapped or just sitting in a folder somewhere waiting.
The same way you don’t see that this is a good thing for the game, and not harmful. Because there are different opinions and nobody can know which way it will go until it happens. We each have our predictions, but arguing them as objective truths is counterproductive.
At the end of the day i think what we all really want is for the devs to be more open about whats going on. Like i previously said What happened to early access backers Voting on Future updates? Why are no devs commenting on anything currently happening in this post?
Sure this was planned years ago but has there been any info for years leading up to this? Previous content is currently Down, no updates on this(other than “soon”).
I think a lot of people have quit over the lack of communication on when things are happening, whats being worked on, whats next to be released, what got scrapped, how long things will not be down after they add something else. Are exo planets going to break again when they implement this?
Also, whenever possible, why each of these happens. What was the reason this was prioritized over that? Some portion community will likely disagree with any individual move, but at least we would know the intentions.
They mean ptrouserants – the ancient Egyptian version of the dhoti, I think, but maybe they mean plederhosenants, a variant of the classic ethnic Alpine dress. Matches well with pdirndlants if you can force you mouth around those consonants.
To me this announcement is like a driving game announcing that they’re releasing an update to allow you to walk, or a flight simulator adding the ability to take a boat. It’s an MMO that’s adding the ability to not play with other people. The game has always been pitched as an MMO from the earliest announcements, so the idea that someone wanting to play the game is turned off by the MMO aspect is downright bizarre.
Edit: I’m particularly looking forward to the upcoming Fortnight update where you can choose not to fight other people. /s
Elite Dangerous is a space flight sim that is adding the ability to walk, so this is a really amusing comparison to me.
That community also has people who disagree with the decision, and I’m not saying anything against your point, just thought it was amusing.
Except literally nobody saw this feature coming. Nobody asked for it. Nobody wanted it. Weird right? There were, like, 2 people total on the forums who mentioned as one-off comments in the past: “Hey it’d be cool to be able to play this game on a private server.”. As opposed to the literally DOZENS of big features the community has been clamoring for endlessly for years now.
Dead game is dead. If you want to know how dead the game is, PS, one of the oldest and most active guilds in the game, is about to dissolve thanks to how dead the game is.
Curious what parts of the game will need changes. Will it pertain to permanent planets? Current builds? Rental planets? Characters?
Would like to verify that this means a local version? Different from rental planets? Will this option be included in the purchase price of the game?
Oddly enough, I never enjoy creative mode in any game, but I do like to have private and/or local versions that I can play - so I am def interested to see how this is implemented.
