Boundless Multiverse

I just hope that people who want a huge community with hundreds of players online at any time are fully aware of the side effects of that.

It’s easy to say that this community is cool and all right now when you don’t have to fight for a piece of land or have to worry about the neon pixel art from your neighbor lol.

Well, quite … I kind of mentioned similar issues above …

However, I don’t see why if the population does get larger that more planets won’t blink into existence.

Hopefully existing users will allow newer ones to have the space on the newer planets if that happens, too.

But then won’t it look the same as it does right now?

A lot of players online but everyone is scattered around the universe and huge groups only will be seen on events or hunts.

I can always find another land to claim but you can’t run from the screaming neon lights esp when you set your distance settings to high.

I just thought of another reason for not wanting a huge community without thinking about the side effects.

From the MMOs I played, the main areas were usually imposible yo access, example main city or markets. Anyone remember TNT party? Some people were upset because the planet was closed due too many people being there and that cut off one of the main networks of the game.

Now imagine all the big malls like, DK, Gyosha, iLLn being always locked because their planets are full.
Yes you could say "well we build more malls!” but eventually of those malls grow big enough the same will happen to them.

Or what if you live in a t4+ world and the time you decide to play there is a hunt with hundreds of players in it and you can’t get to your home because the planet is full.

Now, don’t get me wrong I do really want to see more players and watch this game grow!

But I don’t want to see all this problems just for the sake of having a larger community and maybe devs have thought of this too.

Inverted creepers, instead of blowing a chunk out of your build, they build a chunk of cr*p around you.

In other games I played, players blocked fast transport spots or other spots critical for mission progression - some unknowingly.

Maybe then devs can increase planet player capacity?

That’s OK, y’know …

If I want to live on top of everyone and get annoyed with neighbours, I’ll walk … … **shudders** … outside …

We know that the server instances have more than one world on them, so I wonder if they are able to increase world capacity by reducing the number of worlds on an instance, or if there are other limitations keeping the number low.
There is also the option of increasing instance power, which could potentially also increase player limit.

If they do it for permanent planets they should offer the option to do so on Sovereigns and have player cap upgrades that do not stack. Doing so would essentially give hunt leaders the option to host large hunts on Sovereigns with the ability to control griefing.

Not that I particularly want it but I would like the option to increase the player caps on the world that I am paying for.

Actually, monsters that build stuff would be really cool. Like they build little mud hut communities if you watch them but don’t disturb them.

Like that Centipede arcade game :joy:

Perhaps they could leave a trail of harvestable blocks?

Woah something that’s not a box where I can live in? choo choo guess who’s plotting these mud huts and moving in :joy:

Sounds like the worm that is planned.

I feel this update is super important for me, my friends, and family; so much so that I plan on buying multiple copies as gifts for them to join in on the custom private worlds. I will just have to see how far we can push the world generation

I am just as excited if not more. I hope to work for this company some day making this game even better as there is so much potential that could happen in the MMO and Private side.

One of the biggest things that concerned me back at release was when they took the server cap and lowered it from what I recall being 80 to like half of that because Finata was the most hopping place and was causing load issues. They slowly raised it over time until we got to where we are today.

We will always have a server handicap like that unless they paid for bigger servers, I assume. But to pay for bigger servers they would need more people which means more income to pay for the bigger servers.

At least that’s how I understood it when the whole Finata throttling happened.

Dito.

I have spoken.

How does a ps4 player get a pc server for free to be able to have their own universe?
