I’ll be ready to gather all the images for another ref sheet if you guys want to suggest more buildings.
I’ll number each of them too next time.

Yes thank you.
Could we lower the drop to the river? As the drop was quite large last time around. (Not that i don’t like the drop but ut is a bit deep)
Good input, I don’t know the answer to that. Maybe? We submitted a new version to the devs already, but there may yet be time for quick adjustments before it goes live.
Just made a tweak to the file - hopefully makes it in
Hmm. You really should be able to play on any server. If you’re experiencing lag and rubber banding then we need to get this fixed. From the UK I can quite happily play in the Aus servers for example.
So there are a few areas to consider:
How well the game responds to latency. We’ve done quite a bit of work on this, and the coming release contains even more. The game is supposed to hide the latency behind predictions. Maybe this isn’t quite working for you?
How well the servers respond to latency. As above, but we need to make sure the servers can quickly respond to all players. There are clearly some gremlins in there and we have plans to migrate a good chunk of the server tech in the next few months to make it more robust.
Your local connection. What Internet connect are you running? Are you running on wireless? (We obviously can’t do anything about the networking performance of the ‘last mile’.)
We put the server on NAEast, to try and make is accessible for everyone in Europe and N.America, and fingers crossed it’ll be ok for players around the Pacific.
My game is a bit lacky but playable and we are running on kinda old copper cables.
So I tweaked my idea for the portal hub a little bit:

Closeup
Bird´s eye view
With a small city square / plaza around the portal hub. This is imo pretty important because most players will access the city through the portal hub, meaning this place will most likely be pretty crowded. A city square could help to “thin out” the crowd a little bit.
Additionally I´d suggest that we build a small park around the beacon hub / city square (the green area). Otherwise it could feel quite cramped if we´d place buildings right next to the portal hub / city square.
The central part of the portal hub is still the same as the one in my previous post
The octagonal layout is just for example, it can easily be changed to any other shape.
As always: Any feedback is welcome ![]()
I don’t know if that problem still exists in the new world. But why not incorporate the mountain into the wall? or even enclose it too? (that of course depends on how big the mountain is now^^)
First we should make clear if we want a wall around the city or not.
Yea that’s the other thing^^
High latency is especially jarring right now because it seems to replay the character’s complete path (including facing!)
I think a wall will help keep the city mostly mob free if/when mob spawn rules are changed. Pure speculation though.
Or it will just trap the mobs in the city if they spawn there (is the other way of looking at it)
i personally love the idea of somebody on the old forum, cant remember who it was, sorry. but he basically suggested that we had ‘‘warding blocks’’ kinda like totems or lamps, which would force monsters to stay outside that area, and if you build it into a wall they couldnt get close to the wall.
I love the idea of totems, I think that would work great with the theme of Oort
I really like the offset spokes! I think this layout could work really well
I think it would be way simpler to just prevent mob spawning inside beacons…
Additionally you could implement that the beacon “border” acts as a solid wall for mobs, preventing that mobs can walk into a beaconed area. I think there is no need for an explicit block for that.
Anyway this thread is more for suggestions of what we can build, not for things that should get implemented.
I personally would prefer an arrangement of towers around the city instead of having a solid enclosement like a wall around it.
Well I really like the wall idea, but maybe we can have four giant entrances, so it look like we’re completely surrounded.
