Crafting needs to be addressed

are the new farm coils 2 days too? seems like that is the new time standard for coils

There could be other recipes that we’re not aware of that we could be getting. If not, why not create some ideas to get more use out of it? The same could be said for Cottoncloth when we have sackcloth. They literately do the same thing for what they’re used for in crafting recipes.

Eh? Do you mean the pigment processor coils? I think i put that in the list… id put the ridiculous ingredients in there too, but i dont have my notes on my atm.

Someone else can create the ideas. I have no builds that would benefit from them or look good with them. Or use them even if they looked nicer.

my bad did not follow that part of the new update closely so i was unsure of the official name

One of the newish set of coils takes like 400+ refined titanium, and 144 refin lucent gems(of each type) as well as 480 tech devices, for a single mass of 25.
Edit: not to mention the 2day+ crafting time.

Yup don’t forget we still haven’t had an Umbris exo yet too

Oh I havent lmao! I think it has to do with its spawn location, but that off topic for this thread.

We were witch hunting the crafting times

Well I’ve been waiting for the Umbris exo so I can craft those. So can’t I add that to the crafting timer? I’m at 3 months 15 days of waiting

Ok, I’ve read the thread and get where the op is coming from. Let’s take a step back and do a little thought experiment. I want to craft a single mass of advanced power coils. It takes me(a solo casual player with a minimal amount of play time) DAYS to collect the materials for it. Then, i have to craft most of those gathered materials multiple times to reach the point of actually making the coils and THEN another 15+ hours to finally craft the advanced Coils. Basically, it takes time to make a thing go right :musical_note:…sorry

Tbh i agree that the ā€œtimegatesā€ are a little ridiculous in certain cases, but there are ways, in game, to reduce that somewhat. By that i meant using multiple machines, buying needed mats, having coils, etc. This same dis ussion was brought up with the crafting of the high end building blocks(marble etc), they need boatloads of ancient vital essence which en masse, takes a long @$$ time. But the key there is high end, a shop stand is NOT high end, so maybe that and a few other mid/low tier items could have their times reduced somewhat

LOL, that’s utter BS and you know it! If cubits and thus RL money is gonna be used like that I will stop playing, I’m not calling it anything, just stating a fact. I’m not going to play a game where the richest RL people can have everything right now and others can not.

And if you need those shop stands to progress then you probably should have crafted them sooner, it’s also the reason why many of us have a gazillion machines in our workshop. Oh and BTW, using more power coils DOES reduce crafting times…

To a point, after which you can not reduce it further. Even with max coils it will not reduce past that point.

I am a little curious though @Dhusk as to what you need all the Shop Stands for? Is this for storage? A shop?

Maybe a nice crafting reduction for Gleam club members would be sweet

What do you mean not high end? A shop stand has TWICE the storage capacity of the 2nd highest storage block, the crafting table. It’s the highest tier storage block.
/s

I didn’t understand the long wait for these either when I first started playing. The durations give the feel of a crappy P2W mobile game, but you can’t even pay to win(not that I want to, just saying it gave me flash backs of clash of clans).

I disagree. However, a guild helix would do the same-ish thing. We have a spark cost reducer why not a time reducer?

Multiple steps is better, but needs a significantly lower overall craft time.

Multiple steps allows use of different reagents in different recipes.

If the end result requires a lot of materials, the end result should take less time to craft. You are putting the time in up front. Right now you are putting the time in up front, then putting in that same amount at the end too.

I mean it uses easy to gather materials, is a common-ish item, and doesnt require power(iirc) only the proper skills. And it certainly wasnt ā€œintendedā€ to be used for storage.

Thanks, I just learned something.

I would say that crafting time adds realism to the game. Granted, making a table IRL would take weeks, but having it take time to craft things is not the end of the world. It adds value to the item, both monetary and personal. You put effort into crafting something and (for me at least) get a better sense of accomplishment.
Comparing it to Minecraft, where crafting is instant, i do not feel as accomplished when i craft a full set of diamond armor as i do when i successfully forge an OP hammer.
I personally think that if crafting was instant, it would over-saturate the market with TONS of items and crash the ig economy.

As for PAYING to reduce crafting time, That IS pay to win, IMO. You are paying money to reduce time to get items quicker/instantly and thus able to turn a profit in game if you are crafting items to sell. As I recall, paying to get an advantage is considered pay to win, and the community here is opposed to P2W

This is all personal opinion and i just wanted to give my 2 cents on the topic.
