Mine-able Oort

You assume new players…
A. Know about portal networks.
B. Knew about them before they built up thier…erm…build so they are close enough to make walking practical.
C. Want to interact with players and other settlements.

Well I’ve seen many newbies in the discord quit for being overwhelm for too many things to do at the start, and dont knowing how to properly start. Having to worry about fueling a portal at the beginning won’t help new players to stay on the game.

There was a suggestion thread on this… I’d likely think that much of that conversation was related to why this might have shown… maybe not. All I know was I wasn’t finish discussing things on my side when I brought it up. Plus I thought that it had been around for a while in the listing.

That’s a huge leap, but you have to play for a crazy amount of time before you can survive T4+. Getting more rewards into players hands before they hit the last third of progression is a good thing.

It’s been stated multiple times that early game is an issue and the tutorial sorely needs work. Thats not what were here about though.

That’s not an issue of too many options, that’s bad…erm… management, for lack of a better term.

I mean, I was fooling around on Besevrona at level 20-ish. Just depends on player type, I guess :man_shrugging:

As a hunter, maybe. But the whole point of mining or is not having to hunt.

Pretty much, I for example spent hours walking on maryx looking for other builds, used to kill myself to go back home, didn’t know about going back to sanctum from menu, never used a warp cause I was dumb and did not understand it. I found a settlement with portals and spent more hours wandering thru them.

What food buffs last hours?! Last I checked with max zeal you get 45 minutes on any food buff. You can do alot in 45 minutes too

That’s my point…and why I almost never bother with them. They are not worth the effort to brew them.

I wasnt a hunter until recently, I started the game as a general character. Attempting to as much as possible with two alts.

They would be if you could stack the buff with any other food.

That would be better, but they still need to last longer.

Effort vs reward. I can understand that. From a new player perspective 45 minutes might not “seem” like a long time, but once they have reached the point lf efficiency as we all do eventually it is an eternity.

This is my overall issue with everything right now. There are 1000 steps to accomplish even simple things and each step requires 100 hours of grind. (Note the exaggeration)

Following op, I’m all in for it. I’m a hunter but I understand that not everyone likes that. We need another way of getting it BUT it should not be easier than hunting that would hurt a lot hunters. It should be an equal way to get it, that way prices will go back to normal and both groups will be happy.

I still say Oort seams shouldn’t be on starter worlds. At the lowest, I’d put them on T3 (Biitula and the like), which is also where meteors begin to spawn. And the point at which most players progression has reached the point of possibly crafting Portals.

I’d be in favor T2 meteors to balance it.

I disagree here, meteors shouldnt be on starter worlds. Could you imagine a new player starting the game and a meteor landing nearby? No slingbow or points in power or anything of the sort. Calamity! And the cries of the innocent!
